MSFS - Add-ons and Releases thread

Very nice sense of cockpit depth in VR. The Yoke feels like it’s right up against you, and my first thought was that in a crash, you’re toast, cause that thing is going right through your chest! (and of course airbags didn’t exist then)

Turning around and walking back to squeeze into that little cabin feels weird…

Ja, genau

There is the interactive checklist at least. Though it does not tell much about engine settings in various phases of flight.

I’ve been taking screenshots recently and that bar doesn’t seem to go away. I haven’t yet been motivated to see if there’s a toggle in the menus somewhere.

When stationed at Ramstein, I lived in Waldmohr. So I know exactly where you are flying.
Even saw a Ju-52 fly over my house, when one was doing flights around the area.

That was most likely D-AQUI which was based out of Frankfurt. I saw it once over the middle Rhine valley around Bingen, quite cool! A friend of mine did a tourist flight with it some 10 years ago.

I’ve read that they stopped the tourist flights meantime though.

I wonder if they knew that “aqui” means “here” in Spanish. A wonderful registration for a plane.

and even more fun in portuguese:
d-aqui its like the portuguese word “daqui” that mean something like “from here”

but exist many crazy aircraft registrations worldwide, like this one

A bit of an expensive night… both the Flying Iron P38 and Aeroplane Heaven Lockheed Electra are now available at about $32 USD each.

The Electra:

The P38:

I have only had time to do one flight in each of them so I’ll reserve judgement until I have spent more time with each of them. I need to spend some more time with the JU52 as well…so many simulated aircraft, so little time !

So…being a recent proper convert to MSFS, I’m trying to skim read this thread back to the start but it’s becoming a bit of a monster…

Sorry for putting you on the spot @PaulRix …but your personal favourite 3 modules so far, please?

This one visited Norway, this summer

Thank you! I was going to buy something while waiting for the Electra, so you just saved me money.

Hmmm. Only 3? You do realize I’m an obsessive collector right ?

I guess it really depends on what you are doing, but if I had to keep only 3 addon aircraft, I would choose:

The PMDG DC6 - it’s a masterpiece.

The Flying Iron Spitfire Mk 9.

The H145 just because helicopters are great for NeoFly missions.

I might need to buy that P-38…

I’d love that PC-6…but not with a G1000.

A steam gauges version should be released a bit later.

I took it as an early access type deal, for 29.99 I get to muck about with it and try out the FM, and then I can wait for them to put out one with steam gauges.

Looks like the german aircraft have some kind of habit…:

I feel like this could a theme for MSFS so far. Definitely waiting/ hoping for more GA releases with steam gauges as well.

Has anybody picked up the Corsair yet? I’ve got a couple of friends who’ve been raving about it, and while I usually avoid warbirds in civilian sims, they’re being very persuasive…

It’s a beautiful plane and very fun to fly.

I like it, but it IS a warbird in MSFS so you may pine for something to give the whole 9 yards to.
