Yes!
( I always liked the Hurri)
The thing I noticed about the Hurricane mod is that the author states ‘regrettably’ he had to remove the Flying Iron Spitfire sounds until he has obtained permission to use them. Why would he even think it would be acceptable to use them in the first place ? ![]()
Yep, I read that too. That’s just a no-no.
Ya’ know… This thing looks so Rube Goldberg, that I assumed it was fictional, at first.
And theres a two seat version as well.
Flies well
Well, that’s unfortunate, but the Hurricane is one of my favorite aircraft.
I was really looking forward to this. A solid studio making quality products but $45 with the standard MSFS or WT G1000 is a bit steep.
EDIT: so if you buy direct from SWS the cost is 30 EURO. Simmarket take quite a chunk!
I think many times simmarket is more costy because vat taxes…
Kodiak is released? Hmm…a definite purchase for me I think…
Ah…you posted this already. And yeah…default G1000 is a non-starter for me…
The Working Title G1000"GNX"(?), I think it’s called, is probably the best we can get anyway and is available in the Marketplace which makes it easy to update. SWS state that it works with the Kodiak.
The very excellent H145 is on sale over at HypePerformanceGroup.com
no better aircraft for those PNW hops, at least one flies over my house every day
I’ve been kind of waiting for MSFS to get native heli support, but I do like what @PaulRix & co are telling about those fun helo SAR missions…
Does it feel quite dynamic like the better DCS and XP11 helos or is it “on rails”? I know it’s a modern helo so probably has all kinds of stability augmentation…but I like the challenge of older helos and the behaviour of the likes of DCS Gazelle or the XP11 default S-76 feels a bit, I don’t know, less fun.
@Bearhedge I too love the DCS challenge, particularly the Huey and the Hind but this H145 is a thing of beauty also. It’s basically like flying an Airbus A320 which means there’s a lot to learn if you want to do it right.
It’s quite nice - playing with it in CYAZ Tofino in the rain. Impressions so far: It needs a fair amount of rudder trim on take-off and has fantastic visibility in VR with those wings. Can confirm it works with the latest upgraded G1000 NXI from Working Title. There’s a few variants, including cargo pods and tundra tires.
DCS and X-Plane are generally superior for helos still, although the Bell-47 from Fly Inside is about 80% there in terms of something with lots of feedback. https://flyinside-helis.com/. There’s obviously a few places in MSFS to go visit, so for a light helo it’s still worth it (for me). Helo expansion pack for MSFS probably not before Summer 2022 now.
The Kodiak looks good. I might have to pick it up when I get home next week.
@Bearhedge The H145 is pretty stable and great to fly. I have no regrets with the purchase. The FlyInside Bell 47 is a handful…at best it is neutrally stable, so it will try to kill you if you don’t pay constant attention. It is great in VR with that huge bubble canopy. I like looking up and behind to see the rotor assembly spinning away…it all looks rather precarious
…
decent little manual as well. talks a lot about the trim particularly on takeoff. just flew her in VR around the Big Island and I’m loving it. definitely worth the buy.
The CTD is due to the 470.09 driver. Revert to the previous one.
