The public beta fixes it if you have another game that requires the latest driver or don’t want to roll back - it seems to work ok so far. MSFS Updates/Patches - #202 by fearlessfrog
My MSFS had 2 x updates in Content manager last night the purportedly fixed all that was broken. Haven’t tried updating NVidia drivers though.
There’s a new Nvidia driver v497.29 that says it has MSFS fixes in it today. Haven’t tried it though.
I installed it! No obvious problems…
I’ve been using this for a while, as prefer it to the stock C152 but on a quick search it doesn’t look like I posted it? For shame! Anyway, a great free open-source C152, for all your analog slow mover needs.
Above the radios you can hit the right most ‘SPKR’ yellow button to get rid of the skinny jeans passenger.
Metal livery, with more available on flightsim.to of course
You can fit an autopilot, but you’re not really getting anywhere very fast in this thing.
Hey Fearless - I love your quote “DCS and X-Plane are generally superior for helos”, I would just make one minor correction to that: “DCS and X-Plane are generally superior.”
Ah…the 152…my first love. First solo. First time scared…first time having a passenger barf…all of it…
shame on you! I just hand-flown that thing through Africa and most part of South America already
Ha! @BeachAV8R sounds like we flew together then! Except we didn’t.
Anyway, bought the SWS Kodiak yesterday and flew a 160nm trip to Santa Barbara.
Combined with the G1000 mod its a very enjoyable experience.
Special note is the documentation that comes with the aircraft; finally a dev who delivers a manual with flight planning and performance data! Well done.
Haven’t seen this one coming to MSFS…
(hitting Simmarket probably soon)
why BIS ? sometimes I feel like somebody just copy-paste another sim module because ‘whats the need to research something from scratch when somebody already did it for us’
Rather than plagiarism or laziness, maybe it’s just a popular type that people want on that platform for the first time?
If anyone, like me, wondered how to enable beta and get the condition lever working fully in the Kodiak, in leu of button mapping (inop), here is a guide.
Thank you! Been confusing me. [Edit] still confused after reading his post. I have an X56, so no detent for me. Another YTer said “use F2”, but I’m still unclear on the whole reverser process in terms of what keys to make it all happen.
Unfortunately, the method that I linked didn’t work for me. Still an open item. In Control Settings, the range for throttle is 0 - 100. I need it to be more like -25 - 100.
Resolved. The best solution for my Virpil HOTAS was to assign the 2-way small axis on the front of the Virpil’s right throttle to HOLD THROTTLE REVERSE THRUST. That function also works assigned to a button, but I like the small axis, usually assigned to something like radar elevation, because it is a pulling up motion similar to reverse thrust levers. How it works: move power lever to Idle. Active your assignment for HOLD THROTTLE REVERSE THRUST and then moving the power lever forward, gradually lowers the aircraft’s power lever into Beta. It’s granular that way. This method also works for the Caravan, Porter, and King Air. You can also assign the axis to REDUCE THROTTLE, but then it’s binary instead of analog. Either on or off.
F2 will lower throttle, but I think that it won’t work if you have an axis assigned. With the X56, assigning either a button, or if you had an extra axis to HOLD THROTTLE REVERSE THRUST should work. After you press that, moving your throttle forward should now move the power lever into Beta.
I can relate to that…although for me it was a 150. I have yet to have a passenger barf on my watch though .
Don’t worry! I’ve got plenty…
Tasty… soon i will get it!!!
