I think I want that.
… for every single sim out there
same here, it was obvious to me only after @PaulRix mentioned the price in US gold.
The MilSimTech Osprey… available now (I picked it up through OrbX as a bundle with their Amphibious Action Group and USS George Bush…
Quick flight out of MAS Miramar…
She’s pretty stable in the hover.
Heading out to find a ship…
Now fully configured in ‘airplane mode’…
Hold my beer and watch this .
At this point I was constantly telling myself…“Push for power!”
Down safely, although it was a ‘firm’ landing…
Ramp and door open…
This is going to be a fun addition to my hangar!
one more week … looking forward!
Also picked this one up! I’m glad I bought it, but a few things I’ve noticed:
-manual notes that any time the nacelles are anything above 0 degrees rotation (ie any time not in airplane mode) they’re piping in a custom external flight model. Interestingly, this means you can’t pause the sim, as apparently the external models can’t also be paused due to issues with how MSFS communicates with said models. Not a big deal, but I’m sure it’s something I’ll forget.
-When you go to airplane mode though (0 degrees nacelle) it moves back to a MSFS based flight model. Pausing is now OK. But I will say the change over is noticeable, especially if operating in windy conditions. The VTOL model seems far less impacted by cross wind, and then suddenly going from forward flight at 5 degrees nacelle to 0 degrees there’s a sharp yaw moment into the wind. She also starts to feel a lot less ‘solid’ and more ‘springy’ in how she responds.
-It feels like the external VTOL model is sometimes ‘fighting’ with MSFS rather than working with it. For example, ground contact gets real buggy right as you start lifting off, and it makes clean transitions off of the wheels difficult.
-Possible bug, on my Winwing Super Taurus throttle, throttle 1 moves the co-pilot (left seat in the Osprey) power lever, throttle 2 moves the pilots. Not a big deal, but odd all the same.
-Lots of inop equipment. Fire suppression, and flight plan entry from CDU (both MSFS limitations as I understand it) but perplexing to me is that anti-ice/ice detection. We’ve had aircraft with those systems for a while now. A bit of a bummer that she can’t currently be flown into icing conditions.
It does need to be acknowledged they’re pushing a pretty serious boundary within the sim here. Major credit there. Anyone who remembers VTOL offerings on FSX probably recalls the lame “super flaps’ model developers used, where a pure hover was basically impossible, and you had to maintain a couple knots airspeed to keep lift. This is a true VTOL model, and is lightyears ahead of what we’ve had before. It’s just also one that hopefully gets a bit more polish as the dev gets more time under the hood with it, and MSFS becomes more open (eg. forthcoming first party rotary flight model).
Overall, if they never updated the product after today, she’s a 3 out 5. Just a few too many bugs/inops that get in the way of truly enjoying that flight model. But give it a few months of updates and additional TLC, and I think she’’ll wind up a 5, easy.
All good points… I’m sure we will see some further development. In the meantime, what they have here is enjoyable to fly. Even if this is all we get I think I will get my money’s worth.
Does anyone here have an opinion on if there is a good Mustang for MSFS?
I’ve seen some great liveries for both the Asobo and AH P-51s, but I haven’t heard a lot of love for either.
I prefer gunsights in my fighters, so that may narrow down my choice. But obviously a gunsight on a pig, is still a pig.
Hogwarts in MSFS
Hogwarts (Poudlard) - (Better Version)
Hogwarts Express Steam Train - Custom Animations, Sounds & Smoke Effects
iirc these are the only two Mustangs available so far. A2A sims are in no hurry obviously.
Thanks! I guess I was asking if one was the clear winner over the other.
Anyway, based on some YT reviews I got the AH one.
It’s a beautiful model. The FM has a few weird MSFSisms, but is still fun to fly.
I’m honestly a little surprised that the AH model got so little love.
I think the AH version is pretty good but they were on the receiving end of a lot of hate from certain quarters because of prickly community interaction and somewhat mediocre sounds. Sound has been an issue with a number of AH products.
That flight jacket and glasses matches his airmanship, oh yeah. My kids will love the scenery though.
ah, in that case I think you got the more detailed one, also with gunsight I guess
Got the Osprey bundle and Iris PC-21.
Loving both!!
So when do we get the flying broomstick mod?

What is “funny”, is that users and gpu brands are super worried with VR, visual effects that no one see diference like ray tracing or DLSS, etc etc except when you pause, and then have the reflections on the water cutted in the corners (in the bondaries of the screen not exist reflections o water) or when exist a close object vertically crossing the water, like for example you can see in the video above.
IMHO that destroy more the immersion than VR vs non-VR or having or not the DLSS or ray tracings.
