I might need to get Destiny to right seat for this guy…
But who is all flying in… So many names I don’t recognize from the forums… Do you have fans Beach?
No…LOL…Nanwalek is one of the “featured” high detail airports…so it is natural that people exploring the sim are giving it a whirl…
Haha so it’s a clever marketing setup! Gotya!
Microsoft needs to just set up a live Web Camera at Nanwalek and livestream it from a couple angles…it is awesome.
I’m going to open a bar over on the hillside just like at Maho Beach…
This is hilarious.
The AVSIM crowd’s heads must be about to explode. I love it…so fun watching people having…FUN!
I guess the one thing I don’t know is how the other player’s weather is set up. They may be getting miserable conditions and winds and stuff… Switching to LIVE weather it looks a bit more cloudy…but not all that windy…
Perhaps they are on hurricane VTOL test mode!
I’d love to be there, but my plans of downloading overnight were ruined by a corrupt install. Restarted the install this morning but I still am far from done…
Haha thats really hilarious!
What are those guys doing there??!
Morning all. The way this works is we form a ‘group’ so we get a server to ourselves, so to speak. For the people that have added Xbox Live Ids in the first post - feel free to do this (or accept requests):
Once you’ve added someone you can ‘Add to Group’ to form a group flight. The Icon to the left of the ‘Friend’ icon shows the group.
Next up, in the World Map you set the ‘Flight Conditions’ top right:
What confuses people is that you can’t have real world weather/ATC unless set to ‘Live Players’ (it greys out the Weather change tool when flying).
The other thing to be aware of is if you click your profile icon (top far right) then it will show what server region you are connected to. We need to be the same region to be able to see each other, and for me it defaults as WEST USA.
I suggest a bit later that we jump on the Mudspike Discord to sort out any issues (especially with launch day load) but that’s the basic gist of it.
You can see it working when you zoom into the World Map area, and see ‘green’ aircraft as players. You can click on the plane icon and join their location in flight as well.(Pour one out to the SEATAC area controllers today… )
Luckily (for now) there is no collision model on multiplayer aircraft, so we can set to a ‘Group’ (although watching everyone else is pretty fun) and then rest on the grass.
We can also see each other on the VFR map as well
When ‘friended’ you can see a blue circle around someone else and use their location to start from:
