The drone camera is ideal for cinematic shots. It’s like DCS’ free cam. Obviously you’re no slouch with cinematics. The drone camera is best utilized with a gamepad with analog sticks allowing slower and more precise movements. Looking forward to your DCS quality shots in MSFS.
I agree. The way MSFS portrays the beauty of flight is truely unprecedented.
Its so much more than a flightmodel alone.
That said, if we’d have a solely arcade flight model in MSFS it would definitely have caused problems for the product.
While it might be less sophisticated technically in comparison to XP (unverified?) its still believable and so the complete package trumps whatever is out there at the moment regarding civil flightsims. IMO at least.
I have experienced beautifully realistic views in MSFS that made me enjoy flying just as much as when I’ve seen similar vista’s in the real cockpit at work. Go figure.
Taking a break from the glass and magenta lines. Back to steam gauges. Milviz Cessna 310R. My new favorite light twin! Lots of customizations and realism settings. The sound is amazing.
That is just lovely.
I picked up the LightSim Stream today. I figured it would be a nice little runabout in VR.
The Stream is a sharp looking LSA that was obviously influenced by military trainers such as the Tucano or PC7…
The Stream is, I think, a little under powered, but once you get it going then it’s slippery design means that you have to plan ahead to get it slowed down for landing. The view from within the cockpit in VR is excellent. It is maybe a little overpriced at $20 but still a nice addition to my hangar.
Nice screens! How do you find time to fly all the planes that you’ve purchased (more than a couple of times)? Or is that a question that we’re not supposed to ask at Mudspike?
Truth be told, only a select few end up being flown a lot. When it comes to flight sim aircraft I’m pretty much a proverbial squirrel, always on the quest for the next shiny new thing…
didn’t notice before that it’s 6 seats, nice plane
I am huge fan of Long-EZ now. I think the design is very effective inside-out.
with the believed advance of tech (in irl aviation) I feel sometimes that we didn’t go that far still.
on the other hand the old steam tech is still cool, but I would say the overall effectiveness is compromised.
When I met Burt Rutan in Scotland, a fellow Long Ez owner told him there were four Eze owners in the room with one more under construction. Burt replied
“The Long Eze. Gee, thats practically an antique”
Ha! That guy is always moving forward…
lol, sure, that’s one of the reasons I like it so much I guess
That looks amazing.
I will wait for the official helicopter implementation though. I only have tried one of the freeware helicopters, and while it is kinda nice for a few minutes, DCSW spoiled me too much to really enjoy it right now.
Ya wow. On my cell phone that last pic looks real
I have to say that flying in VR, the H145 feels great. The flight model might not be at the DCS helicopter level, but it is I think, more than good enough. The H145 is very stable and smooth when compared to the DCS Huey, but it is a modern helicopter designed with all the modern gizmo’s such as stability augmentation. That clinical, on rails feeling might actually be pretty accurate. The Fly Inside Bell 47 on the other hand, is a real handful. I’m not a helicopter guy in the real world, so obviously I might be talking complete rubbish .
Another point to consider is that when native helicopter support comes later this year, I would be very surprised if Hype Performance Group doesn’t implement the new flight model and features into their H145 (assuming that Asobo do a decent job at their end). HPG already allow you to use the AirLandFS helicopter flight model mod (used by most of the freeware hell’s), so it sounds like the flight model is an easily swapped out module.
Long story short, if you are interested in the H145 then I think there is a lot of fun to be had with it right now. Pairing it up with NeoFly for randomly generated Medical and SAR missions is the icing on the cake.
I posted this shot over in the MSFS new releases thread so please forgive me for posting it here as well…
The H145 perched at the summit of Mt Cook on New Zealand’s South Island.
while the H145 looks really great in the sim (based on your above pics guys and based on their freeware H135) I am also going to wait for the official implementation.
at that time we will have native support in MSFS and XP12 (hopefully) so we can do some better comparisons
( XP12 should come with default Robinson R22. wondering if MSFS will come with their own default helo, I wish for Schweizer S300 )
