Mudspike DiRT Rally 2.0 - December Rallies [COMPLETE]

Must have crinked your neck - driving the whole stage in reverse!

Thanks HB. From Race Department for sure. There are quite a few. Example. Hard to see on my phone atm.

Edit: here is the livery manager that I am using.

I think I just finished Finland in the last minute.

As I said above, I just quickly went and bought a used steering wheel. Cost me 30 bucks and a bit of cycling. No force feedback, big deadzone, but a wheel and 2 pedals does feel a lot better than a controller and I think it helped. Although I still went off the track a LOT, most painfully in the last jump of the last stage. I drove a lot of km with a missing tyre (or 2). Just did not see myself being more than a minute faster if I replaced a tyre.
I am very impressed @Snowy55 ! I tried so hard to drive slower and not drive into trees, but I couldn’t help just driving a little bit faster and then crashing all the time. Takes a lot of restraint to bring a Group B car to the finish line without dents!

Guess whose idea it was to quickly buy a used steering wheel btw?

Rally Finland and Championship Results. Nice turnout again. Congrats @chipwich on taking Finland. But…. That championship. I thought tie breakers are decided by stage wins. :grinning: All good fun though!

@Freak That is some serious dedication to get that wheel!

Thanks, at least I finished the round this time! Well done on getting the wheel. That does show quite a bit of dedication.

Congratulations everyone! Looking forward to the next round.

This was awesome. Can’t wait for the next one.

Great turn out and great persistance for those that stuck with controllers… I couldn’t do.

Special mention to @Freak for venturing out in the real rain and mud to buy a wheel

Try driving in a higher gear than you need. When I found I was doing a lot of that (when I first bought DiRT Rally and raced in VR), I tried using higher gears than I should have used for competitive times. I knew I wasn’t going to win so what the heck? There’s first and there’s ā€œalso ranā€¦ā€

I found I got round most stages without a single crash and my times were not too shabby in the end. It just prevents you from doing that BANZAI! because it’s more difficult to do when the rev’s are lower in a higher gear.
it also gets you some experience in the game and how the car handles.

give it a try

There are multiple time of day and weather presets to choose from.

EA WRC has a random generator option in addition to presets.

You all probably know how to do this but I share it just in case someone isn’t aware. I wanted to try adding some different liveries to the Audi and potentially other cars. One of the first ā€˜how to’ YouTube videos I came across was very helpful. I tried it and it works as advertised. Doesn’t require a mod manager.
