Agreed. Especially when the physics going over a tiny bump are so wonky haha.
omg this is frustrating. this hill. Last time I trust you when I ask if something is flat ![]()
also why does the whole thing have to be flat? horses love hills. true story.
When practicing the landscape smoothing⦠Make the brush max size. Then just hold the button down on one spot. It will sort of ārelaxā the terrain. Works better IMO that dragging the brush around.
Ya, thatās what Iāve been doing. Iām looking at putting the paddock down near the barn now instead of on that top part. Itās crazy trying to smooth that out without making mistakes. And constantly restoring and restarting the server is not something Iām interested in doing simply because I suck at using their object placement engine ![]()
edit: itās brutal. Iāve got my mouse settings to super slow and the editing tool to large, and mixing matching and just⦠agh. Just when you think youāve got it, boom it spikes the dirt path beside the pen into a pillar. haha
I could never get the hang of āRaiseā or āLowerā. Really unpredictable. āFlattenā was better, but touchy. They tend to make mountains, mesas, and holes, very fast!
The āSmoothā tool is the only one that ever gives me a decent feel of control.
Breathe deep. Expect to fail. Then remember the good side of it allā¦

Wish I could play earlier today.
Ya. Iāve gotten it into a decent placement down near the barn along the dirt path. And the farmhouse can stay where we imagined as that has a much smaller footprint so doesnāt cause such a big jump. I think I can make this work without messing it up too badly.
Ok the paddock is in at our original point. Bit short on cash so I canāt place the farmhouse, but Iām fairly certain thereās enough room.
Super, looking forward to getting some play this evening!
Couldāve come out a lot worse.
Working on figuring out where to put the water pipe now. It looks like it has some sort of area of effect silhouette, so Iām not sure what thatās about.
I -think- we might have room for a shed to store some local tools there too. A trailer, the auto-loader, etc⦠Possibly a small tractor/front loader. And of course the animal trailer. The truck weāll need to pull it can be stored in the farmhouse garage.
Very nice.
Do we still need the bunker to store grass? Canāt remember if the horses need that or not. It was late.
And uh⦠where did all the straw go? Did you collect and store it all? (wow)
Ya the straw is in the barn. We have wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much. We donāt need straw for another 20 years. Haha. It took like 1600 for the two horses I bought. Thereās like 150K in the barn.
What we do need is hay. Which needs a mower and a tedder. Or we buy bales for now.
For reference, field 20 yielded like 8k and change in oats, and the trough took 8000. And given oats and hay are primary feed, we might need a silo nearer to the paddock unless we want drive around all the time. Plus growing the oats closer. Weāll see.
Nice.
Yea, Iām pleased to drive that little bit as we figure things out. The driving and actions are a good part of the charm of playing, at least still so, at this stage.
Also buying bales isnāt too bad. IIRC I bought a round bale of hay for like 650, and itās volume is like 4000 liters. Not bad to start off with, and we can easily carry them with a bale spike on the front loader* (one at a time as they are eaten, if we desire).
*Yea⦠the bale spike is so easy to use on round bales. Itās so easy I was lifting two bales at a time and stacking them with ease. Nowhere near as taxing as the pallets!
So the horses are taken care of aside from hay for now. Theyāve had their riding for the day, and both been groomed.
Weāve got 3 fields that need planting. Incidentally, donāt farm out planting to the helper, he doesnāt used the loaded seeds/fertilizer. You pay his wage, and like every second you pay 1-2$ for materials. I was a trifle annoyed.
Field 19 has been weeded but will need a second layer of fertilizer when it growth ticks.
If anyone does some seeding today, we should do a field of oats to feed the horses. 4 horses need 16000 oats. Field 20 is almost too small. Maybe 11?
Iām interested to see how long it takes 4 of them to eat the 16k of oats in the trough.
Weirdo ![]()
Neat
Wish Iād seen this earlier:
