Checking out Gamsberg needs to be my gaming-goal of the day.

Driven around Gamsberg. Looks nice. The land is $$$$$$$$. Kinda hard to see how we would customize it too much tbh, but it’s a good option.

Looking at some others. Greenwich is nice, but again, not really able to build up our own farm really.

I haven’t really seen any others that allow us to actually build up our own farm - they all come pre-placed which is… meh.

17&18 weeded and fertilized. Everything is on harvest wait.

Didn’t get to look at Gamsberg, instead I tested the Horsch Agrovation map on the hub. There is a Horsch implement pack that goes with it. The map is nice, flat as a board compared to what we are playing now. It’s like 2X the size of our map, too, so there is some travel time involved getting to the towns. And massive fields. The largest field is like 85 hectares.

Big downer for me, is again… roads too narrow to fit on. The only way I could get my Cotton harvester to the cotton field I bought, was to drive over other people’s land, and over rail tracks, weird stuff. The regular roads I tried have walls and fences so close, they cannot be used. Ultimately I got the harvester home, but it took a good 10+ minutes of real time.

I like the idea of the massive maps but again that place looks like no open space to build your farm. I just want yard areas, no structures. That map also doesn’t seem to have many fields since they are so big. Not ideal for me either. We’d have to edit in a crap ton of cash to start just so it’s playable.

Well, Gamsberg does have an unbuilt farm at H2. Granted, it’s not that big.

I’ve added the current suite of Global Company mods. Also removed Place Anywhere (no action required on your part) since it conflicts as Global Company has it built in.

So before I logged off, there was a great demand at Port Northwest. The sunflowers peaked at just over $1400… earned 30k on the load. Corn peaked at nearly $800 at Port Southeast, sold the entire harvest for $28k.

Sitting just at $400k balance, now.

Fields 17 and 18 are ready to harvest.

Field 21 has a harvest contract on it (offering a 2m header for lease!!!), so should be good for purchase in the next tick or two.

LOL… Had it been the 6m header, I mighta done it. No way at 2m though!

EDIT: And that was on a $400k harvester unit!

OH… I forgot to mention… That cow pasture looks fantastic. I love the drive-thru service points. And an integrated shed area for task specific tools.

Ok, got the cow pasture downloaded. Certainly test this in single player. It’s huge. Maybe just me, but I’m also getting some heavy stuttering after loading it. Happens in bursts, even when far from the object.

Definitely test before hand.

Some placement tests in Field 21. This was lowered as much as possible when placing, otherwise a huge hump is formed by the road. I left the edges of field 21 in place, so the scale can be compared to the field area.

Maybe the remant of Field 21 could become our new grass crop area?

That’s great. We can sell the barn and put a new one by there to go along with the fermenting silo. I love it when a plan comes together. Slurry spreader can go in the barn there. Telehandler or wheel loader or something maybe. So much potential!

The other thing we could do is ditch field 20 in favour of this if it’ll fit (which it should no problem).

I rebooted, still getting massive stutters. Visuals freeze for 1 to 2 seconds at random times, even as far away as Port Northeast.

Removing the mod clears is up.

I don’t know how to check to see if there are some errors being reported. Need to see.

EDIT: Ok, found the console to check for errors. Also my single player save loads like 5X slower with this mod installed. Weird.

Field 20 did some weird things. Including destroyed the road and part of Field 19. And besides, there is no room left for any of the silage stuff.

Weird it’s giving a performance hit. The road thing is hilarious.

I bet that road thing is due to PlaceAnywhere letting things happen that ordinarily could not.
