Regarding a new PCB, I emailed their customer support to describe the issue and they told me how to purchase one.
Note that my initial email listed 8 different methods I’d tried to get it working again (trying different PC, reinstalling drivers etc) , so they cut to the chase and sent me a Paypal reference to use when paying - 55.80 EUR in 2016.
from what i gather, the chip is sensitive to voltages, if the USB is not putting out correct mV then the device will either not boot or boot into boot loader mode.
…and it appears she’s totally dead. Stick is recognized in Windows, throttle, not at all. Plugged it in, it blinked and went out. Swapped through several USB ports, nothing else. I’ll pop it open in a bit, but I’ve already emailed TM tech support.
So this is weird. Took the bottom off, blew out the dust, PCB looked ok, no loose connections or strained wires. Reassembled everything, plugged it into an old Chromebook that was handy, and all the lights came on. Brought it back to the rig, plugged it in, and right back to where I started. The joystick is fine, and I’m still not getting anything from any port (or powered hub for that matter), so I’m back to square one.
Looks like I’m waiting for word from TM tech support.
I just finished playing the tech support song and dance with TM today, new PCB should be on its way. Cost $48 shipped Fedex to Nebraska. I’ve been a bit on the lucky side where I’ve been able to fiddle about and resurrect mine for some flying every weekend, so I’m really hoping the PCB is my problem.
The chip is sensitive to cats.
…and I think I’m through the dance with Guillermot, to be able to purchase a new circuit card. Only took four days to get to this point!
I did this techno-two-step with them when I got a faulty set of rudderpedals…
They always start at “Assume customer is an ultra noob” level. And one reply per day.
When I finally got them to understand that the unit had to be RMA they sent me a return label that I had to deliver to a pickup point 2hrs away…by air…!
That’s when I contacted the webshop where I bought it. They sent a new set immediately and paid for the return of the broken one, by regular mail.
“You should’ve called us at once! Let us deal with TM” they said
…and now they’re trying to suggest I send them the entire unit for testing and repair, at a cost of $160.
Eh… What happened to just getting a replacement part and doing it myself?
Weird, how old is yours?
Seven years, almost to the week.
I talked to my wife, who dealt with TM (shes quite good at dealing with CS), and she said they offered to have us send it in for repair as well, but she told them no we could fix it ourselves and they just ended up selling us the PCB.
I managed to buy just the plastic gimbal parts for my TM Warthog stick, but that was several years ago…
When my TPR pedals arrived, with a faulty toe brake sensor, they refused to send me just a new sensor. Even if the sensor is mounted externally, and you have to mount it yourself when assembling the pedals…!
Send me a PM if you do decide that @B12
I’m in the uk so would be interested in those for the right price
I like them too…
As you know, I modded mine with extra toebrake springs and a hyd damper for the rudder and now they are just as good as any other pedals I have owned.
The only thing I’m slightly worried about is how they will cope with the extra load of damper and springs. That metal isn’t the toughest alloy around, if you know what I’m saying…
Got ya, I replied in the same manner- probably again the thinking that every customer can’t tell a screwdriver from a mimosa, until proven otherwise.
Finally got the purchase request via PayPal. Now the next round of waiting begins…

Guillermot said the new circuit board should be here in a week. Today makes seven days.
Not that I’m chomping at the bit or anything. To the contrary, I can quit at any time.
Good luck bredda!
