Great read, and it’s heartbreaking in some ways. An SK1 buddy of mine came from the VRC community before he took over S-7 on the ship, and the stories he told are very, very familiar to what I read in that article. It’s interesting to me how the most important role to let the Navy actually complete its mission is so woefully ignored. I guess it’s one of those things the people wearing stars don’t think about needing until they don’t have it any more.
I think they went below the hard deck. Video apparently shows an F-22 shooting (simulated) an A-4 in an exercise…the weapons bay door comes open at around :50 (I can’t really see it though…)
