NATO Ministry of Information video thread

VR just isn’t ready for primetime I’d say, based on this recording

PS: May be a repeat. Comes from this 10-Percent True interview

As god and fun as 2025 RIAT was, I wish I could go back in time and be there for 1993 RIAT:

Some actual Cold War psyops leaflets, courtesy of these guys:

This was for Polish troops, reminding them of Katyn.

And one for the Czech troops.

It is a numbers game. If you only get through to 1%, that is still 1% less enemy shooting at you.

They have Soviet Commissars ordering them to charge or they will shoot them in the back (of the head), which has probably already happened, even just to make a point and then these are followed up by leaflets and broadcasts with instructions on how to to surrender and that they will be well treated and given a (probably the first for ages) hot meal… Which is why we strictly adhere to the Geneva conventions you 'kill 'em all…’ dumbshits, how else are we going to convince an enemy not to fight to the death saving the last bullet for themselves!

But these psyops guys. Don’t know if crazy, stupid or stupid brave. Crawling as close as they can to the front line with a loudspeaker strapped to their back :grimacing:

And yeah @schurem Metal as :metal: The ‘Sovetska Zne’ would make an awesome poster for a band.

Do you think they would swap for 1st Armoured Regiment (RAAC) cap badges?

I still have some spares. I can send two so we can get one for me and one for you.

Ooh, that is a good idea- I’d have to check. Sadly right now I am in a completely different base. Will check as soon as practical

@Harry_Bumcrack Could you send me a picture (not necessarily of those you have, just any picture of the 1st Armoured Regiment (RAAC) cap badges?
I know a guy that’s there right now and I can arrange something from here still! :sunglasses:

That thing was a beast. I regularly socialize with a gentleman (~8 years older than me) that flew mission into Saigon during the evacuation, driving a -53. Has some cool stories. IIRC, it was the first/only? helicopter to get the ‘Heavy’ designation at one time. Been a minute, my memory may be off on that one.

I remember when I first saw one in real life.
I only knew it from pictures and models and from afar, and my first thought on seeing it up close was: It is absurdly large.
Literally a house sized helicopter.
The main rotor is 22m diameter or so, that’s more than the length of my house.
The tail rotor is almost the diameter of a Robinson R-22 main rotor, and possibly heavier than that one.

Edit: now that I think about it: the R-22 can probably land on the CH-53’s rotor head fairing.

Awesome machine.

NATO link: They were in Service with a lot of NATO countries. And if they let us participate in Eurovision now, then I guess a Leo AS1 is OK to post here.

I might know the guy that the arrow is pointing at

A $500k missile to take out a $12k drone. I think Putin enjoys the math.

LOL, I’d like to see stuff like a full rack of shotguns tie-wrapped under the F-35 with a cord to pull to fire them all at once

Like- I’m not even kidding.

Not like it’s a new invention either… Look with someone did during WWII!
