Yes, I remember when I was a cadet I spoke to an ex-lightening pilot whilst waiting for my turn in a Chipmunk at an RAF base. He was a fascinating chap. I remember him telling me how they used to scare the crap out of Russian bomber pilots that encroached on UK airspace over the north sea. They would make a supersonic pass right in front of the bombers noses before forming up to escort them back east. Sometimes this was the first sign that the Russian crew had that they were there. Must have been a hell of a wake up call!

That could have went so wrong so fast. Knowing they both were rescued before hand still didn’t make listening to it any less stressful.

I missed that plane by 5 minutes. I’ve never got a picture of a galaxy.
It arrived overhead really early and i didn’t have enough time to shoot to fairford and snap it.
I’m hoping to overfly next week and see the next one from above. As the U2 is due back in

If Maverick is as good as he claims, he’d be in the A-4 beating Viper in the F-22.
But I guess he’s still just writing checks his body can’t cash. . .
