Not NATO but regarding one of our Pacific allies.
Some additional cool video.
Was on a flight to MUSC yesterday…got to see some of those guys doing some low approaches to Joint Base Charleston. The C-17 “Turtle” callsigns were out doing some stuff too…
Awesome! I worked with a guy whose father flew a skyraider in Nam.
Had some great stories.
I would expect to maybe see one of those artful Japanese F-4 slow-mo videos coming in the next few days or weeks of the event…but for now…these planes were built the year I was born apparently (1971)…
Nothing in the sky sounds quite like an F-4!
And knowing the Japanese, despite the age of those Phantoms, I bet up close they look as if they’ve flown just a few hundred hours.
Mesmerizing! The poor people watching from the lead-in lights were ingesting a lifetime’s worth of carbon and kerosene. Their reward was witnessing up close a moveable feast of the greatest jets ever built. If the video were to be pared down to a landing competition, the Mirage’s win IMO. But the Tomcats show how a tight overhead break is done!
That really was quite a parade of cold war aircraft.
I think the Phantoms run on coal?
Great vid!
Navy lost a Hawk today. Both pilots ok thank goodness. One of the older T1’s according to the tail number
I mourn the loss of a wonderful jet and by all appearances a perfectly fine hedgerow. Best wishes to the crew.
I dunno @BeachAV8R I was enjoying that dubstep when it rolled out. Those speakers either side of the cockpit with KAI written on them sure were banging out the bass.
