The trail of JAKE17 out of Mildenhall, paying a visit up north…
Oh dear. That’s truly awful.
why?
<. slaps self>
Of course, you’re talking about the sad accident with the spitfire, not the snoopy plane Troll spotted…
I actually had the same initial reaction that took a bit of scrolling to figure out. You are not alone sir!
Yeah, I am six days out of step. Moving on…
Six days huh…
My “cousin” John flew them. He was my mother’s cousin but was like a very old uncle to the rest of us. Awesome machine though. Like a big Mosquito.
My Uncle was a pilot of a Marauder; received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart for his efforts the day they shot him down. Must of been a hell of a day.
Ok. That was amazing. However the AI reading the text needs taking out the back and shooting
Gawd, that was painful. Youtube at its most useless.
Not a video, but interesting tech - a passive “radar”:
I’d just bury it alive. Won’t waste a bullet.
Holy heck this was brilliant!
ASTUTES. With the latest upgrades. We have diggers already serving on them and involved in the design upgrade. RN is going to let an Aussie skipper command at least one of our boats subject to their passing the command course (perisher)
Cheers. Got my Trafalgar’s & Astute’s mixed up.
Looks we are hedging our bets. We have (or will have) RAN sailors on Virginia class boats as well and already have have officers attending nuke school in the US.
There is actually a long history of RAN officers attending perisher - going back to the O Boats.
Didn’t we want Virginias but then US Dept Energy said “no nuc boats for Australia”? Which is why the AUKUS boat is being designed by BAE Systems even though there’s no chance the US is going to buy a foreign design?
Disclaimer: I’m a dirty civilian who has no insider info into this… just my understanding from scuttlebutt on the civilian side that may or may not be well founded.
… same here, which for me is also at least two years out of date. So I’m pretty much in the same boat (no pun intended) as you!
Until I see RAN nuke boats docked at Fleet Base West (and/or) East it is still just ‘aspirational’ as far as I’m concerened.
