Wow, $1500 is WAY less than my original prediction 19 days ago LOL!
I’ll probably make the 3090 order at around 10:00PM … that’s when I’m drunk enough to make bad decisions but not too drunk to read the back of my credit card.

I hate to say it, because it will be jinxd, but if that isnt future proofed I don’t know what is. I guess the same could have been said for Titan RTX, but while the titan also has 24gb, its price is $2500. Nvidia is undercutting themselves, and I like it.

It just seems there’s such a Big Gap Between The 3080 and 3090 in both Price and Performance,Isn’t there some wiggle room/market between them for a 3070 Super or 3080ti with 16-20 Gigs of VRAM and Price boost of $200-$350?
I feel a lot of us would welcome this kind of option?
I think they are just marketing to the masses with the “low” end prices on the 3070. 95% of people never own a 80/80ti/Titan/etc card. Just look at the steam hardware charts.
Pretty sure it was always the plan to have an upgrade of sorts for the SERIOUS ELITE GAMERS (us) as they have usually done in the last few generations, and this leak seems to confirm. Like the Titan RTX, the 3090 will probably be the highest end of the generation, and there will be some tweeners like 80ti/80super/70ti/70superfastgameredition. Hell they may even do a 3060 just to troll AMD.
I’d love to buy a 3090…but it won’t fit in my little mini MSI case. I’ll wait this one out with my 2080ti until you guys make me envious in VR. Then I’ll punch a hole in the side of my case and figure out how to get it in there…
Maybe some of you will help me better understand. Now that we are getting closer to release, I am begining to be seee more information on the 3080. Sure, Nvidia put on a good show every year and tell you how the new GPU will revolutionize gaming. We who have been around for a few years are tired of hearing it. The salesman goes on to tell you how last years card is flawed with tech that is so old. We then are left with our mouths open as they parade the new FLAGSHIP in front of our faces. However the flagship is never what we get in real life. It is the smoke and mirrors of the lineup. Lets get down to real buisness, shall we?
Lets start off with some facts. NOBODY needs a 3090 for gaming. The 3090 is a Titan with a different name. This is done to muddy the waters and confuse customers. If you still want a 3090… move along. This is not for you. If you bought a Titan and only the 3090 will do, then do the research into that.
So that said, we cant compare oranges with oranges because there is no 3080Ti… YET. We have to compare the 3080 to the 2080Ti. I am simply looking at what I have available. Yes, I could have gone with the 2080 but since they are claming 50% increase…

My skeptic side says when the dust settles and we have a tester view DCS are IL2 GB we may see 15 to 20 percent increase in performance. Please let me be wrong. Prove to me that I will see a 40% increase in VR performance with the 3080. I will then wait for the 3080Ti and buy that. Ok, Im off the soap box.
