Market is going to saturated with those. Much money loss compared to yesterday.
Really just kidding, I’ve got to get a couple years out of this thing. I’ll probably pick up the 3080S/+/etc when that comes out.
TLDR of the stream above:
“AMD is fooked”.
Isn’t that the 3090?
No. The 3090 is the new branding for the old Titan series.
A 3080ti would be excellent for most of us if it came with about 16GB of VRAM. Top end performance without 3090 pricing.
Really? I must have missunderstood. I thought they would drop the TI designation.
Was a 3080TI announced today as well?
Not sure on designations. Today we got info for 3070/80/90 only. Titan dropped, as 90 series returns.
That’s basically the confusion. The 3090 is a power hungry triple decker with more RAM than most computer systems around. It is probably the super high TGP we’ve been hearing about. But it is actually not a gaming card. It’s a graphics workstation powerhouse. It can play 8K 60 fps though…
But that was what was making me skeptical at first. An unreasonable amount fo resources thrown for the ti substitute. It is not the case at all. It is a different type of product. (I’m sure some maniacs around here will use it to game… but still…)
I liked the fact that they basically admitted everything that was underwhelming about RTX and advertised to have fixed it. So I don’t think the actual benchmarks will show much different results than the marketing talk. (in magnitude they will, but not in concept). Those are the RTX cards that will deliver the best graphical fidelity (ray tracing included) in playable frame rates. Turing, while they did make everything prettier, was one or the other…
Yep, the 3080Ti having > 10 GB VRAM is probably going to be the sim sweetspot on price/capability. I’m waiting for that, although they’ll only release it once the rumors of the 40X0 range start.
Will be interesting to see what they will cost over here. A new 2080TI sells for $1500-1700…
Dont count out AMD
Haha, Super Big Navi 2 is DOA.
says who?
Glad to see the 3070 wasn’t given the short stick.
Probably won’t be in stock at $499 anywhere in 2020…but maybe when the 3070 Super comes out, or 3070Ti, or 3070DLSSSDKSSDHPCLMNOP90210…
The cards seems to have a good price compared to previous gen.
I think they fear AMD.
If Amd can make something better or close to the 3080 Nvidia could react with a 3080ti with more ram on board in the 900-1200$ price range
Sign me up for one of them 3080 space heaters baby!
Says 10000 cuda cores and 24gb. On that live stream they said rdna2 would have to more than double performance to be equal to a 3070. I guess we’ll see when AMD decides to drop their info. Last rumor I saw was gddr6 and 5100 cores or processing u it’s whatever they call it. ampere is gddr6x.
dunno how anyone especially nvidia would know the perf. of an unreleased GPU.
rDNA2 will have GDDR6 AND HBM.
So we know when amd cards will be unceiled?
