I’m really looking forward to the 3070 . I’m hearing that there will be a 16gb Vram option . That and the additional performance will allow me to finally retire my trusty 1070 .
(Sigh) But first i have to do something about my cpu/motherboard
Same here, already saving up for building a monster box late summer/autumn. New CPU, mobo, ram, and if it goes my way, a 3080.
Come on Schurem. What is this pansy 80 nonsense you talking. Gotta be a ti!
I think the 2080Ti was the first time they launched the Ti version with the non-Ti since the old generations where every card was a Ti.
I loved that song.

One of my favorite train songs, along with the midnight one that was going to GA and the love one that had people from all around the world.
The New Orleans one I’m not so onboard.
RTX 2070 Super has been discontinued. More like, it’s very limited as of now (source: tom’sHardware). The price hike is actually disappointing. It could be a marketing move, but it is really bad for consumers. I currently sport GTX 1060 and was planning to join the RTX club. I guess, I am gonna have to wait a while. I too was really excited for both Big Navi and Nvidia 3000 series.
Well, the monster box has been built, now the wait is on for the monster gpu to top it off.
Yeah , same here . Don’t think the 1070 will handle a G2 ,
Has there been an clues when this Series will Debut ?? “Asking for a wealthy friend”
Most rumours point to late august for a formal announcement and start of the release schedule in september. Should coincide nicely with the G2
Nvidia has a big announcement September 1st:
Hello kind sir. I will have one 20 GB 3080 Ti pleaause. Here is my $10,000 dollars …
Game. Blouses.
I’ll take one Ti Hydro Please!
what are the benefits of having so much memory for flight sims??
Preloading all the textures into VRAM reduces delays caused by reading from disk. Not as bad now with NVMe, but not everyone has NVMe let alone DCS on NVMe.
Disk access is one of the top causes of stutters and frame rate drops that I have experience back before I had DCS even on SSD - terrain texture loading as you fly across the map into new view regions (set by preload radius) would cause either frame rate spike down to near slideshow or an outright pause for a half second or so.
Seriously can’t even imagine the prices on these things. And stock levels are going to be a pain for a while as well.
DCS uses a lot of VRAM…I am near mid settings but it can use 90% - 95% of my cards VRAM depending on terrain, multiplayer etc so in a few years I might expect to see performance issues.
NVIDIA were stingy on VRAM for the 20 series for some reason. Other flight sims I have use next to nothing in comparison…cant say about general games.
