NVIDIA RTX 3000 series

My place in the queue has finally dropped into the two digit range! Sadly the rate at which it dropped implies cancellation, not deliveries.

my laptop w/ a RTX3070 Destroys my Desktop gaming rig in FPS (due to not upgrading GPU since R7970 Lightning OC)

First day I’m seeing a 3060 being offered at less than 800€. I think i just might mark this in my calendar.

Looks like the vendors are reacting to the recent crypto crash.

Hopefully a sign of things to come. That said, the chip shortage and all of the shipping world being upside down won’t help…and there won’t be quick fixes to those, so the crypto piece is only part of the puzzle, unfortunately.

Yeah, even if supply would skyrocket right now, there’s so many people on the fence that would eat the supply right up. If prices relax, i expect them to do so very slowly.

More news.

I wouldn’t hold your breath for a crypto crash, whatever that is. It’s so volatile and surrounded by so much puffery, that most traditional market analysis does not seem to apply here. Ironically, the day that article was posted had pretty good gains overall.

Adding… I think that the only thing that will offer some relief is when it is no longer becomes viable for the average person to mine. I don’t understand the technology well enough, but know that there is a move to adopt proof of stake over proof of work mining in order make it more environmentally responsible. Or, if the hardware manufacturers can somehow make their gaming GPUs irrelevant to miners. So a technical and ethical shift away from the current proof of work mining.

I’m going to believe that when I see it…
Anyways, just to jinx me to hell, I’m planning a new PC build by next year March, for my birthday.

If everything goes… well.

For now the prices are staying right where they are…

So, not buying $hit

You can get that for free, why would you pay for it?

For those of you hoping for a Bitcoin crash, watch the price over the next few days. As I type this, it’s at ~ $29,300, when it was $63k on April 13. Jim Cramer is speculating the moves are based on the PRC’s crack down on crypto. HODL

It is interesting to watch. Apparently Europe has seen some small price drops on cards. Not so here, yet. This China stance might have an impact, though - they are now cracking down on hydro-powered mining too, not just coal:

Prices in Austria for a MSI 3060 Gaming from a retail aggregator site.

First time I’m seeing it actually be available at less than 2x recommended retail price.

A lad I work with bagged a FE3090 for the MSRP 1400£ so they are certainly dropping in price. This was just in the last couple of days
