There’s beer left
couldnt resist recent VSL sale, its like we dont have enough DC3s in all the sims.
anyway, theres beer left? bringing few friends with me!
I reckon there’s a case round here somewhere.
Just like all the student parties from my youth, there’s bound to be a four pack of Stone’s bitter left at the end.
what’s the origin and what’s the destination?
xpl12?
Great pics, whatever it is!
these are all above or on the coast of Colombia heading north to Panama. e.g. one of them is at La Florida SKCO.
thanks Deacon. and yes, its XP12. trying to convince myself that the better FMs are worth it
So, how’s the scenery/weather? I recall XP11 being fairly generic unless you were willing to pony up for the add on scenery.
I imagine XP12 must have addressed that at least somewhat.
I will start with weather as that part was updated in 12.
in 12 LR has introduced 3D clouds plus they have updated overall visual representation of effects like rain and wet surfaces, icing etc.
I am using ActiveSkyXP just to better translate the METARs to the game.
unfortunately scenery wasnt updated much. without manual effort there is nothing much to see.
so I use ortho4xp to generate satellite imagery and more detailed mesh plus SimHeaven products to populate the cities and make the roads look like roads.
wanted to add also GlobalForests product to populate the forests but unfortunately the dev moved to orbx platform and they dont accept paypal.
trees were updated in 12 though. LR introduced 3D trees with seasonal effects and effects of wind on them.
still GlobalForests looks much much better.
so at this point I can only add the following
crossed along the Colombia and Panama border from west coast to east coast
SKBS - SKLC - MPOA
had some fun
still on the 8th
seems like scenic place, Anton Valley, Panama
some dramatic clouds today
made it to the other side
wanted to speed up my progress so tried the DWS F-16D in XP12 but was not satisfied with the performance of XP12 and performance of that particular module so jumped in MSFS default F/A-18
did the transfer of the beer from the barrels from the back of my DC-3 into brand new fuel tanks to transform this bird into ‘beer barrel bomber’ but … the fuel tanks are not visible to the naked eye unfortunately hope I will find some good mod to fix it
here somewhere over Guatemala following the volcanic ridge along the west coast
Cuba and all the way to Key West
so many ridges along the way, would need F-105 I guess
(this is lake oc)
adios La Habana
wondering if these bridges are there IRL or just injected by blackshark AI to make the isles look less disconnected
Ocean Reef Club, note to self, full flaps next time
rocketing the rocket center
took off from SFS Skid Strip, so went to check Space Centre (POI), turned back a little to check the Space Force base (custom-ized airport) and then buzzed Shuttle Landing Facility ap. all in no time at 500+ kts
and practiced few approaches to Jekyll Island, as its worth its ‘hidden’ name especially with that crosswind
approaching KCLT
hey @BeachAV8R , lets go, we have to offload some beer quickly
I have some miles still in front of me.
despite scud running at 600+kts I am doing quite fine with low level nav
Mountain Empire
some beautifull views over Appalachians
only when I started to think if this thing can fly on beer fumes got mesmerized by this lake … almost didnt recognize that I am already at my final destination - KVAT Newark
@BierRunner hope you still home !? I know I am one year late
get ready for three bags of some good stuff all the way from down under on the other side ! yep, thats where I started from.
