PC parts and upgrades thread

No. That’s a cardboard box.
Or a snack, as @BeachAV8R would call it…

Someone dropped this off at my doorstep on Monday

Oh my, that’s some fine hardware y’all got!

Goodbye cords! Until I get VR, anyway. Got a DelanClip Fusion and a Logitech Pro X Wireless headset. No more cables from TrackClip Pro and the old headset into PC. It’s nice.

Edit: wow really got clean that radio panel. That’s embarrassing.

Ooooh I’m very jealous. That’s not something I had seen before. Wireless is really tempting

It looks nice and sleek, but if you wanted to mod your own the TrackIR clip is just 3 LEDs (the smarts is all in the camera end, on the unit placed on the monitor), so one of the easier things to do. Just add a battery :battery:

Yes! I flew the Spitfire vs A8 Furball on the channel map and took the Tomcat for a quick CASE I around the boat last night. They’re amazing. It’s like flying the Tomcat on easy mode (I have been using the SAITEK pedals for the last 8.5 years)

Also funny to see that the calibration software is very similar to the stuff we hacked together at work to calibrate our Expression Pedals xD

It is true - it would be easy to mod the TrackClip, assuming you’re electrically inclined (which I’m not - although it probably would be easy if I looked into it).

I’m on a bit of a crusade for sleekness. The desk is for both work and play and I’m trying to declutter hard. 47 pounds sterling seemed a fair price for zero tinkering and the added quality-of-life.

Delan Engineering also sells a head strap if you want to use the device without headphones - I picked that up in the same order.

At the moment I don’t have any loudspeakers plugged to the PC, but I’ve got an old soundbar I thought I’d try as an alternative to the headphones. With a toddler and a baby in the house, slightly higher (real-life) Situational Awareness at the expense of immersion is good…so the headstrap and loudspeakers combo should work well while still allowing head tracking.

yooooooooo this alpha yoke is unreal.

took some time to get settings right (unbinding other stuff basically) but omg. I thought I was a bad pilot. I just had terrible tools.

I’m probably still a bad pilot, but my plane is jonking all over the place anymore. I actually have pretty good control. OMG. Just did a few touch and gos with the eclipse 550 and wowwwww. So smooth. That saitek yoke is garbage lmao.

You got the Alpha?! So Jelly.

Costco man
$350 before tax!

Now just to find a bravo unit in Canada.

Costco?! Ya godda be kidding me. Why are you kidding me like this? Is it the “your mom” jokes we’ve traded in the past? Honeycomb Alpha is a super niche product that WILL NEVER see the light of day in a Costco LOL! (in Canada no less)

I mean it’s on amazon too, same price basically. 1 or 2 bucks difference. Order from costco took 2 days to arrive

OMG … I was searching for “Honeycomb Alpha”. Stupid me. Thanks bro.

Oh boy, I’m a little embarrased.

Searching where? Google shows it when you search that old man

Costco and also, I think I’m getting old.

Seriously though … Costco stocking the Honeycomb Alpha PC flight simulation yoke!!! What a joke.

What are they going to stock next? VIRPIL equipment? HA

Look! Honeycomb Alpha is SOLD OUT on their OWN SITE! …

Anyway, at that price I think I’ll stick with my Saitek yoke … I think it’s a bit more of a superior product.

Lol I can’t even tell you how bad the saitek is. I can’t believe I put myself through using that for long.

Flying is so smooth with this thing.
