Pets of Mudspike

Man, I feel for ya’. It is really a hard time and a testament to what parts of our hearts these furry little beasts steal.

We (well, I) did our cats cremations ourself - just because we have a fairly big property and a huge fire-pit. Afterward, what few bones remained (cats don’t have a lot of big bones) I crushed and spread across our flower garden. Now, each Spring, when the tulips push up…I know my beloved cat is still giving me a smile.

Ok more pics for you
Puppy 513 we will be driving down for him on the 16th of December. I can just imagine the carnage on Christmas day as I type this :astonished:

Still trying to come up with a good name but will probably have to wait till we meet him in the flesh. Currently my wife likes Arthur which does not roll off the tongue when your calling him back

I want to be at your place during Christmas!

Something with a single syllable would indeed be better, like Hanz, or Bear :stuck_out_tongue:

This is from yesterday. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures of her tearing open and completely devouring a half - pound bag of sausage treats right before this.

And Cor reminding me that she was also there and needed to be paid attention to as well:

And a couple of shots of Reginald. Neither of us know how long crawfish live or how big they get, but he’s gotten huge in the last two years. He’ll be moving soon to a much larger terrarium at the White Deer Park Nature Center.

Arthur is a nice name though. You could shorten it to Art for calling purposes.

Thanks, everybody. It’s been a rough evening, but I know it’s for the best.

Reagan Madison Lockhart Spencer passed quietly at about 515 pm, held by the two humans she loved most.

Here’s me saying my last goodbye.

Rips a hole in your heart

Man…that photo brings tears to my eyes @Navynuke99. I know it’s hard. I hope your heart heals up soon - it will, it just takes some time. That damn Rainbow Bridge poem makes me mist up whenever I read it…

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together…

This. I dread the day I must do the same to my beloved “Mischief.” Picture of Navy and RML brings tears to my eyes.

2 new photos of the pup. He is 6 weeks old here and we pick him up next Saturday. Still no further on with deciding on a name
