Panic over. He’s back being in the way and infront of everything you need to access. Thankfully smiling ![]()
Best news of the day.
I got in trouble for saying “its a fair sized gash, takes after his mother” in the vet and mortifying my long suffering wife.

You my friend are a far braver man than I …

The trick is once you are in the hole, don’t stop digging until you fall out the bottom ![]()
Don’t worry, these two characters had a couple of lumps taken out and you can’t even tell where the incisions were except for a little wonky fur growth.
My best to all the pups!
Indeed! And speaking of deals…
When we got Bertil, I contacted the Norwegian Kennel Club to get contact info of reliable and good breeders. The breeder I contacted had me write a small essay about our family, what we did for a living and in our spare time, why we wanted a dog, how often and for how long the dog would be alone, etc.
We were also presented with a buyers contract that we would have to agree to.
The contract stipulated a price and that we were not allowed to sell or give the dog away. If we, for any reason, would have to give the dog up, the breeder must be contacted and offered to buy the dog back for 10% of the cost or allowed to approve any prospective new owner, who would have to agree to the same contract.
I have no idea how such a contract would hold up in court, but I sure approve of the standard they are setting with it.
That’s how it should always be.
I often scan for golden retrievers for sale. There are some excellent breeders that massively instill confidence and others, who i believe shouldn’t be allowed metal cutlery to eat with…
It breaks my heart to know that on a Tuesday evening around 8pm, i could have a golden delivery in under an hour ![]()
Wow, and you’re still alive ![]()
Plus, only a Goldie could wear a cone of shame and still look happy ![]()
It is pretty much the same here… reputable breeders that is.
Much the same getting our latest, plus we had to provide references.
Are puppy farms a thing in the UK? Fortunately they are less of a thing here after the authorities really started cracking down on ‘back yard breeders’ due to the rise in popularity of labradoodles, etc.
Very much so. My husky diesel came from a house that had 14 full grown huskies and about 25 puppies.
I was too naive to see what was happening.
Our darling girl, Meg, died unexpectedly overnight. She’d recently had her first litter of puppies and we decided it safer to have her spayed last week.
We’re currently waiting on the post-mortem to find out what/why.
Sat in the tractor at the minute in a state of shock/disbelief.
Gutted.
Oh no. RIP Meg. ![]()
Oh so sorry mate, what a blow! Are the puppies ok?
Poor thing. Wishing you strength in dealing with the dog-shaped hole in your heart
Oh no!
So sorry for your loss.
