So sorry to hear this . She looks so nice and friendly in the photo.
So sorry keets, such a shame some of the most precious things in our world are not with us for nearly long enough.
Gut punched
Sorry for your loss. Its hard enough when you see it coming; cant imagine it happening with no warning.
The vet called us this evening, she had internal bleeding, but all the ligatures from the operation had held.
What they think is that she either had an auto immune response to the surgery which prevented the blood from clotting, or has a genetic defect which resulted in the same thing.
As she’d had a successful litter, it’s highly likely not to be a genetic issue, but we’ve decided to have the testing done on her so we know if the puppies may have an issue going forward.
Yes mate and thank you. They’ve been weaned for around 5 weeks now. The two we’ve kept are bouncing around and wondering why we’re so upset.
Knowing what we know, would we have made the choice to have routine non-essential surgery? Probably. Knowing the outcome, definitely not.
The farm was quieter today even with the 200 dependent lives we still have on it.
Meg was such a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed.
Life can be so very cruel.
Mate I am so sorry for you. It is bad enough when you have to take them to the vet for that one last time… Doubly so when it happens like that.
My girl passed suddenly overnight as well, still next to me on the bed and here was me in the morning going ‘c’mon lazybones time to get up’. That was nearly 10 years ago and I’m still not over it.
That’s terrible news, more so as it came out of nowhere.
I feel for you. Dogs are the best of us.
A quick update on Stevie…
After just a week she is coming on leaps and bounds. She is still thin, but I’m amazed at the progress she is making. She’s also integrating into the household very well all things considered.
I’m still on the road, so this is just a quick screen shot from a FaceTime call I just had with my wife.
Obvious tail wagging. Always a good sign
Her tail is rarely still.
Nice to see Stevie doing so well. Keep flourishing Stevie!
That looks like a happy dog!
It’s amazing how quickly a dog will flourish given the smallest amount of care and affection.
Glad to see her becoming the dog she was always born to be!
Awesome progress!
She is still thin, but at least not a walking skeleton anymore.
Y’all are doing good work.
What sweet faces. Take good care of them! I know you will.
it must have been a shock for them too
Oh man, I feel for those beautiful pups. Take good care of them as I’m sure you will keets
