Razbam Announcement

It occurs to me that if ED were the malicious actor that pointless champions about the DCS net claim they are, then we’d see ED put a “If you mention anything about these proceedings, then all of your IP and subsequent profits are now property of Eagle Dynamics as a punitive measure” clause inside of the NDA.

They’d own the Strike Eagle, Mirage 2000, MiG-19, Harrier, and South Atlantic within 3 weeks.

And HB did the right thing, there. They communicated with ED, firmly told them this wasn’t going to fly, and it seems to have been resolved considering that HB is still working with them. That entire name drop was the most insulting thing and it was basically Ron or whoever it was calling us all idiots. It was the point at which, after a little thought, I really REALLY started to distrust everything coming out of RB or at least from the usual suspects.

They’re claiming that they aren’t alone in missing payment, name drop the ten ton gorilla that is Heatblur as proof, and then use it to imply that other developers have experienced the same. We haven’t proof to the contrary, but we also don’t have proof beyond it happening to HB once. They want us to make this leap in judgement, one I’m not comfortable with doing. Also, namedropping another company like that is the height of unprofessionalism. When you settle a dispute like that? You don’t just bury the hatchet, you’re building a damned Chernobyl NPP sarcophagus around it. It’s over, it’s done, and don’t be the little green man stupid enough to try and start digging it up over 30 years later.

I wonder what “court” if that’s the case. Cypriot? Russian? UK? It could be that as ED holds all the cards and all the money, the court of public opinion is the only one available to Razbam.

My guess is Lausanne, in Switzerland.

If you have a contract that says you should be reimbursed, but you’re not, it should be an easy day in court…?

that was my thinking … open and shut case … unless you have engaged in some dodgy shinanigans

If you’ve been in the Flight sim Genre as long as I have, You’d know this isn’t the first time RB has left a platform for contractual/IP issues.

I hope it works out so the main devs on the recent projects at least get what they are owed,
as for RB as a operating entity, fool me once.

It’s unfortunate to know that such talented developers who have delivered on some great stuff are being helmed individuals who seem to seek out drama like soap actors down on their luck.

There’s always Falcon BMS, DiD is working on something, Jason, etc.

And I’m sure nobody would be pissed enough if that happened to find a workaround to get your modules back

Didn’t they used to make things for Strike Fighters back in the day?

I think at this point, if there’s one thing that we can be sure about, then it’s who the drama queen is in all this.

We are all speculating, assuming, and making total conjectures here about outcomes.

THAT, on the other hand, is something a lot more solid.

Looks like Razbam or ED have removed their planes from the e-shop:

Well…crap. wonder how long they will remain supported.

ED needs to hurry up with the 15C. Need a 15 to be happy lol

I suspect it was ED since the South Atlantic map is still available. Had it been Razbam I think they would have pulled all of their content.

Lol, I haven’t looked at DCS for a few years.
Now getting back into it I wondered if I should just start with the Hornet or Hog again, but then thought that maybe jumping in with a completely new modern jet could be it. Maybe the Harrier or the Strike Eagle!

So I was thinking to myself:
“Go get back up to speed with a few DCS threads on Mudspike!”
Y’all can guess which was the second thread I clicked on…

Gah.

Bignewy posted the following

Steam takes a little longer to action requests like this. They are being removed from Steam also.

the thing that struck me as odd this morning … someone posted alegedly the reasons on ED forum and it was commented on by a mod but not removed … now i may have just joined the tinfoil hat brigade, but thought it was strange that it wasnt removed.

does this mean things are coming to a head,

And then Ron posted this on the Razbam Discord:

Though from what I remember Galinette, who had been maintaining the Mirage 2000, left some months ago for another job.

I will also HIGHLY recommend the Mirage F1, even though she’s a bit older.
