Seriously. Also, this really comes off as trying to poison the well. “We can’t be asked to work for free!” Very reasonable, but didn’t they stop working last year? When this kicked off? Is Ron taking from the Tim Sweeney playbook, now?

I have stayed out of this until now, but that latest post tells me next to nothing.

We haven’t had any Razbam updates since this whole fiasco started. Is this their way of saying that their modules are about to ‘disappear’ with the next DCS update?
The only thing I can be sure of is that there is a dispute between ED and Razbam. I personally don’t care what the causes are, I just wish someone would ‘■■■■ or get off the pot’ so we, as the consumer, know where we stand.

It really REALLY smacks of Ron trying to play the poor me act.
Mind you, given RB’s antics in the past and seeing how Ron feels about labor unions, I’m having a difficult time sympathizing with them as much as ED irks me, lately.
WELL WE CAN’T WORK FOR FREE yeah, totally fair, but why are we bringing this up when only the most basic upkeep has been performed on existing RB modules and some of that’s been done by ED. This really just feels like an appeal to emotion, especially when they claim they believe in transparency in business as some kind cherry on top. No, you don’t believe in that, not every yokel gets to thumb through your books just because something is amiss. I’ve made it clear that I do not care for Razbam, but they’d be totally justified in telling me to play in traffic if I demanded certain transparency from certain aspects. Actually, quite a few.
What this really feels like is whatever proceedings, mediation, or litigation they’re going through isn’t turning out entirely in their favor. So, they’re throwing a fit.
At least ED has the decency to shut up. It’s not dealing with it and getting it over with, but it’s preferable to this circus. So many of us are just sick of seeing this brought up. It really is a case of put up or shut up.

My take of looking at this fiasco … it is illegal to withhold payment for work done, this is a fairly straight forward law within business…and if that were just the case then the razbam legal team should have wrapped this up within a year ….but we are still here in the situation. And that announcement just strikes me a final desperate throw of the dice by razbam

Agreed, it feels like they got handed something that doesn’t please them. Of course, it could just be Zambrano antics and nothing has changed. After all, legal systems are glacial when they actually try to factor in fairness, etc.
And their lawyers are probably telling them to hush. As @jenrick stated, it’s probably REALLY infuriating for RB’s representation.

Seems to me ED had a talk with RB recently that didn’t satisfied RB so he’s again ranting in the public space.
But the most worrying aspect is the thought that if ED is not paying its contractors, does it means it’s not doing well financially? For a software which isn’t entirely ‘standalone’ (you need to authenticate your modules each time you load into the game) doesn’t bode well - if they shut off their servers you can kiss your modules goodbye and be left to play only the free version.

It could be they are upgrading/updating working on their DCS line up behind the scenes?…And then when “Hopefully “ the situation gets resolved they will be back and ready with a massive patch for the Community
The last Discord update We saw from Ron was somewhat more optimistic…He had gotten his Developer and DCS OB access back….this last statement seems like a bit of a setback unfortunately.

At the moment we only have the Razbam issue to
Look at …I am sure if ED wasn’t paying the other 3rd party devs we would have either heard about it and no new modules would be announced or ED would have folded …
And if it’s just non payment for razbam then surely
They would just have their legal team sue for non payment and damages

….this situation is over The StrikeEagle external model…remember this was originally ED’s AI model in the game,not sure if Razbam purchased it outright from ED but I know that Razbam have and still do provide military aircraft for other flight sim platforms
I remember seeing a poster of a StrikeEagle at a Razbam booth under a MicroProse banner at a recent flight sim expo
If Razbam is using ED’s work in another platform without their permission or without purchasing it I can for sure see where this could lead to the unfortunate situation we find ourselves in.

I am much more inclined to go with RB trying to fight this in the court of public opinion rather than ED has managed to hide their financial collapse for over a year. Saw this in an article today:

I think this may have been already been mentioned in this thread but when all of this nastiness is said and done none of us on the outside looking in and most of the employees of both parties will be none the wiser to the final disposition of the case. Both parties will likely sign a Non Disclosure Agreement when all is said and done with the courts leaving only the Attorneys and the main players cognizant of the final resolution.

at the beginning of all this RB mentioned that something similar happened already to HB . but maybe it was something else for HB and RB just wanted to use it in their public favor ? dont know …

the strange thing about this … I remember Razbam mentioning it in their orginal meltdown post … but i dont remember seeing anything about it when it actually happened, may have missed it …
