Razbam Announcement

On the plus side, the disappearance of the Mudhen leaves a gap in the lineup for a supersonic, two seat, strike aircraft with TFR.

That gives an opportunity for someone to develop… Hmm, I dunno, maybe a:

There is a game that was made in the style of a dating sim that actually does your taxes……

Tornado, we need a Tornado IDS

Beach, I think that you’d like the Viper. Of course it has the A2G mission, but the systems are interesting and basically a new paradigm compared to the McDonald Douglas school of fighter design. I’ve just scratched the surface, but what I’ve seen, I like very much. And that view…

Oh, and you have that other sim to play in. The one with the iconic dynamic campaign.

BMS was my introduction to high fidelity combat flight sim with modern aircraft. Learning the viper in that context was awesome.

I’m in the same boat as WarPig. I still fly the Viper from time to time in DCS and love it there but the avionics functionality feels incomplete compared to BMS. It’s still an ergonomic marvel right up there with the A-10C, though. After ramp start (okay and maybe fence in/out) you literally never have to touch the MFD buttons.

I’d settle for a Tornado, and it will be a lot more marketable, especially to Euro customers; therefore more likely than a pig.

Well, it is coming… DCS IDS 2000.
When? No idea but at least the devs aren’t a certain someone.

Aviastorm and they seem like solid dudes.

Specifically, it’s a German IDS.

This serves as another plug for BMS. It has a decent-fidelity F-15C. It isn’t coded by Russians who removed Crimea from their game years before their country took it from Ukraine. The people who contribute to BMS do so purely out of a mix of their love for Falcon 4 and their desire to apply their coding prowess in a fun, collaborative environment free of the rat races they endure at their real jobs. If any of this petty nonsense happens among the BMS team, they’ve been quite adept at keeping it in the family. And it has a Harrier! (Not a very good one). And a Mirage 2000! (Also not a very good one.)

Happen to know where someone might find a keymap file for the Orion 2?

I keep searching for one for BMS and I just find the usual BMS evangelists having a whinge about how WinWing doesn’t care about about BMS.

I’m convinced they don’t actually play BMS, frankly.

Don’t know what an Orion 2 is tbh. But controller profiles are far easier with the new-ish 4.37/4.38 UI.

Orion 2 is a modular throttle base from winwing. You can mount a hornet, viper, strike eagle or other grip on it. Looks like this:

I have it with the F-16 grip so mine looks like this:

Perhaps I should give it a try. I haven’t flown BMS since .33. Since we have the viper in DCS and how great it is in VR I haven’t looked back. (I’m gonna be upset that the BMS F-16 gets GBU-39 and AGM-84 and such   and we will never get it in DCS)

Oh wow. That’s quite some kit!

so… I downloaded it and it set up the viper grip perfectly. It didn’t assign anything to the orion 2 base so I did that by hand. I just haven’t gotten anything assigned to hook up-down, wing fold, flaps, adv mode, the sliders and the red button above A/G.

I remember the days you had to fill out this excel form to generate a controller profile.

I am extremely fond of mine

No dice there, not the file format it needs. Also, cannot get my hat switch to work.

And I’m already done with this game lol.

I don’t know how else to share it with you :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: If I knew what file you needed I will gladly send it over.
