I remember reading a story of a mock engagement between IIRC a Mustang and a Bearcat, starting from a standing start on parallel runways. The tl;Dr of it was the Bearcat pilot was up and bounced the Mustang before he’d even lifted off the runway.
If it’s as well represented as the Strike Eagle, owners should be in for a treat. I’m really interested in how the Phantom matches up with the Flogger.
I agree…I think we’ll see some fantastic Dogfights with these two…I might survive a dogfight or two…but I don’t know about landing The Flogger…that landing gear looks like it doesn’t forgive mistakes!! lol

It Probably does…but just looking how tight the wheels are together makes me think I’d have a hard time bringing it down in one piece
Well if you consider the landing gear span looks like it’s wider than the fuselage- I think you’re just getting “fooled” by the perspective… all in all it seems pretty damn stable - to me at least
Either way, Flogger should be hella fun. It’s stupid fast, accelerates like a bat out of hell but has awful cockpit visibility and a rather vicious stall. I can’t wait!

Someone did one for FSX - think it was Alphasim. It was far better than I expected and i used to like flying it. Though I didn’t have much use for it in that sim.

It looks nice but performance below 1500(ish)ft is absolutely terrible for me. Unplayable in VR right now. Not sure what the actual problem is but it’s a hard cut-off. 60-90fps above 1500ft AGL, 15-30fps below 1500ft AGL. The really weird thing though is that performance is fine for 3-5min after I start the mission then there’s a sudden drop a few minutes after I am in the cockpit, it even happens on a completely empty map just sitting in the jet, not touching anything. Performance never recovers after that unless I restart DCS. Other maps are still fine.
On paper, the Flogger has swing wings capability that SHOULD allow good low speed maneuverability. That applies to landing. Wings tucked in, shes a bullet. Wings spread out, shes a butterfly. On Paper.
The Soviets gave tactical aircraft very tough landig gears to operate from rough terrain.
This is all, On Paper. In reality, it cant out turn anything and the landing gear makes the whole thing dangerous to manuver on the ground. But shes fast and can accelerate very well. Its an intercept platform.
One thing that bothers me. I know the aerodynamics and systems weren’t exactly top of the line, but whenever my RWR sounded off in Flaming Cliffs the slight panic would very quickly subside if I saw it was a Flogger.
Found them very easy to shoot down even with my meagre sim A/A experience.
