RAZBAM AV-8B Harrier II

Hey Deacon! Great to see you…!

I don’t know much about the M2000C (I own it, but haven’t flown it) - but from what I’ve read around here, it is pretty darn spiffy and has been undergoing continuous upgrades.

Thanks Beach!

Good to hear! I’d obviously love to see this come out as accurately as possible

It would be great to hear your opinion on this one when it is released @Deacon211. Being ex-RAF, I have an affinity towards the Harrier, so I am very much looking forward to flying it in DCS and in VR. It is going to be a great year for maritime operations in DCS!

Hi Deacon!

I don’t have that much time to fly DCS, but when I do, I usually fly the Mirage 2000!
The Mirage 2000C, their first DCS product, was released in early access with only basic systems functionality, just a slight step up from FC3. It gave the community a chance to fly and fight with it and make yourself at home in its cute cockpit.

Since then, there have been continuous updates and around 6 months later, almost all features were simulated (save for some of the more obscure INS features and the occasional problem with CCIP).

RAZBAM’s main systems programmer is currently occupied with the AV-8B. I do not remember whether the Mirage is officially still in early access (is it on Steam yet?) But so far, they seem to have pulled off a very smooth early access process. The result being a very complete study-sim of a gen 4 fighter, and the first one in DCS.

Thanks Paul! Will do.

That’s good to hear Freak. I was a little disappointed in the RAZBAM Harrier for FSX, to be honest. But I think that it had a difficult birth and I gathered that they were just happy to get it out and workable.

I would expect that the DCS guys will want at least a reasonably accurate Harrier before they let it play in the greater DCS system. Truly even a FC level Harrier would be a hoot.

But if they could do it right, you guys would have a ton of fun with the Bomb Triangle…not to mention the “Death Triangle”!

In my professional opinion, those screenshots are 100% of a Harrier.

Gosh, I have to actually work adult hours to earn my way for once, and no one picks up my slack.

tsk tsk.

The dashed values indicate that there is no valid TACAN data.

The wayppoint data is:
Bearing from present position to waypoint.
Distance from present position to waypoint in nautical miles.
Time-To-Go to the waypoint at present ground speed.

The blue triangle shows the bearing to the waypoint.

The blue circle shows the waypoint position in relation to the aircraft. The range is based on the display scale (SCL 25 = 25 nmiles)

I see @fearlessfrog is picking up the slack @near_blind left behind and his general failure to replicate RAZBAM’s posting times 1:1.

Yeah…that wasn’t cool…at all…

Razbam seems to be making great progress. If only the Harrier wasn’t such an unsexy airframe. I might have to get this out of pure academical curiosity for the VTOL capable flight model. Life sucks.

I’m so hoping he’d come to senses and do the A-6 before the A-7.
Shoot, even the numbering calls for it!

I gotta say, I’m a big fan of how open RAZBAM is with development of their modules. I love seeing the progress and improvements as they happen.

Unfortunately, by that logic we’d have the Vigilante, the Scooter, and of course, the Spad long before those, and I don’t think any of those are on the board. :frowning:
