Would anyone venture a guess as to when we might see the Harrier in the NTTR?
Friday
It is 2.5 on Friday… but that doesnt exclude the Harrier… so definitely Friday ![]()
2.2
Friday, this year? ![]()
Will they add Tarawa as a museum ship on the strip in Vegas so we can contine to land on it?
Tarawa…Lake Mead Casino Boat confirmed:grin:

I just hope the 2.2 sorts out the ‘shadows’ perf issue I was having (plus they look sort of ‘blue’) plus they fix that PNG screenshot things, so we can post more DCS AARs easily. ![]()
Put this in the Harrier Tips thread, but good enough to repeat here.
A very nice USMC Harrier Force Flight Syllabus guide (link from the video above). Has pretty much everything in there, lots of detailed procedures.
Some nice bedtime reading!
I was browsing the linked file above and found the following:
Common Errors
—Walking to the wrong jet.
Hopefully this ability will be modelled in 2.5.
This is actually a thing in civil aviation as well.
It’s only the wrong jet if you are caught.
Holy cow, stop playing with my feelings. ![]()
I’ve done it before… And I’m supposed to… you know, take em apart partially. That could have been embarrassing. Thankfully everyone in aviation knows the art of walking around with a piece of paper looking busy. It keeps nosey people away!
Common Error #2
– Eating all the crayons
I have it on good authority that #1 is getting into an aircraft where the wings rotate faster than the fuselage.
Common Error #3
- I’m not busy right now, got any jobs for me?

So the Harrier hit 2.2 today and I finally got the chance to try it. Just did my first flight lasting 30 minutes. My first impression, this thing is super easy to fly
I haven’t done any reading or preparation for the Harrier, in fact I didn’t even watch any 1.5 videos (just makes the waiting harder). So I simply assigned the axis for my controllers and jumped straight into the free flight mission. Did about a dozen of VTOLs, a short take-off, a short landing and lots of hovering until running low on fuel. This thing is a lot of fun! Pushing for power takes a lot of getting used to tough ![]()
The cockpit looks very nice in VR. I like how the HUD base protracts into the cockpit. Texture work is not as spectacular and impressive as with the Viggen though. The engine sounds are also a little weak. I hope that is an area that they will still improve on.
Overall I am looking forward to working into this bird.
