That doesnât look too bad actually. Less than the Warthog and Apache
Weâve got time to learn the WSO pit.
Yeah, but thatâs just the pilot stick. WSO has 3 sticks.
Good point.
It had to happen sometime, I guess - downloaded the update and low and behold there was the F-15 ready to install. Thought it was some kind of mistake but nope, bought it in February apparently.
Genuinely have no memory of doing so! Slightly worrying, but I guess but if the trend continues (and itâs stuff I want), itâll be like having another me surprising me with nice gifts. Which is nice of me!
Ooh thereâs a lot of plane in there. Got a backlog growinâ on ye @Chuck_Owl ![]()
I had a couple quick flights. I love how it flies. Big, heavy. Powerful. Flew an almost empty one and it went mach 1 in a 30 degree climb. Phoaar! It doesnât feel on rails, and I think one could bomb real precise with it. Itâs no slouch at all in air combat either I reckon.
It happens ![]()
Good news is: I canât recall the last time I forgot something.
When I saw that I thought they had used a photo for the âwallpaperâ (same as the Tomcat).
Now I have downloaded it I can see that it is a screenshot⊠but even then had to do a double-take ![]()
You can all thank me later. See, it released today because im going on Vacation tomorrow. Damn it!
This thing is a beast!! The sounds are amazing as well. They nailed the start up almost perfectly!
I wont lie I started the engines probably ten times just to here that JFS kick off. Best sound ever IMHO.
10:30am on a workday here so this is TORTURE waiting to get home. Thank god my Fridays are short ![]()
So, I get home today after a week on the roadâŠand tomorrow morning I head to Houston for the Flight Sim ExpoâŠ. So I guess I will just save the F15E for when I get back. Iâm seriously considering just staying home this weekend!

Iâm in the same boat, got to play DCS for the first time today, 4 hours of updates and thereâs an F-15. Got some fun playing around and realized how much there is to learn. I was naively hoping for some more system commonality between the Hornet and the Viper, to maybe be able to pick it up quickly. No dice there!
Sinai is the real surprise, itâs a jewel of a map, and seems to run really well. Far more optimized than Syria or the Falklands are/were at launch.
Yeah⊠See you guys in about three months ![]()
From what Iâve seen thus far, getting workflows going might not be all that hard. The user interface seems pretty well thought out and rational to me. Have any of you met the fuel bug already? (Fly high and fast, and fuel flow gets negative!)
I was flying over Angels 55 and both engingeâs FF was about 1k something at full Reheat.
EDIT: JFC I love that bird⊠pls can anyone be my pilot? I want to be a WSOâŠ
EDIT 2: Only thing I have a problem with is the sheer number of sticks and buttons to assign in the WSO office.

I have to find a workable solution⊠and I fear is neither easy nor cheap.
I guess for WSO you donât need to bind the control stick and throttle. Only the 2 sticks that WSO is using.
I was trying startup training yesterday, while attempting to align the INS i got GC HOLD on the HUD (you should get GC OK when it alignes), couldnât find any info on it in the manual. Anybody with similar experience?
Yeah⊠until something happens and you need to have that stick mapped⊠![]()
EDIT: Plus, honestly, it doesnât help that much.
EDIT 2: Iâm thinking about using two XB360 joypad (which I already have)⊠and, in some way, that almost forgotten Microsoft Sidewinder Joystick that is collecting dust in my âbox of sparesâ.
We will see.
EDIT 3: What I could do is not map the throttle switches for the flight stuff and instead use them for the WSO sticks.
