Yes a bind. No way to mouse click it
I really, really like the new FM! âŠat least I think I like itâŠso how do you get it into a spin or just depart controlled flightâŠhavenât been able to get it to do that yet.
A couple of things with the latest updateâŠ
What the heck is RP-5 Radar/Telemetry Limit On/Off?
Has anybody gotten the ARK-5 Manual Tuning key bind / button map to work? Of all the things on that piece of gear, the manual tuning âcrankâ is the one thing that really needs it, IMHO. With the way the ARK-5 is positioned over there on the right side, there is no way you can (safely) tune it and fly the airplane at the same timeâŠprobably in the real aircraft too. However, if we could key bind, then we could tune âby earâ - using the audio from the ARK-5 through our comms radioâŠexceptâŠ
Has anyone gotten the key bind for the Comms/ARK-5 audio switch to work? I thought I had it set up when the Mig-19 first came out but now, no joy.
It is good that the drag chute button cover and button are now all have key bindsâŠnext we need it for the jettison drag chute button. Also, Iâm pretty sure the drag chute cover button is just âcosmeticâ - I accidentally hit the deploy chute button while airborne without first opening the protective coverâŠthe button âpushedâ anywayâŠso no chute when I landed.
OKâŠcoolâŠI hadnât noticed the control position and data bar before.
So I was able to stall it (on purposeâŠas opposed to the Viggen) - the wing fall away at high AOA wasnât as âharshâ as what I expected ⊠which s just fine with me.
The crank for the radionavagation is fixed!!! Yay!!!
Using a smooth mouse wheel, I can just spin it from one end of the dial to the other. Yes!
I think you meant MEME.
This is a mime.
Oh sweet summer child. You never forget your first, do you?
Is there a badge for creating a Mime Meme?
Memeception!
Now that we have cleared up the Mime Meme âMemeceptionâ - with thanks to @komemiute for getting us out of that (invisible) boxâŠ
I discovered some cool stuff. Rolling in on a B-52. Go vectors from GCI and performed a nice stern conversion intercept - radar on. Just in locking range I got jamming. Pretty cool. Not sure what kind it was but it was doing a pretty good job, even when I selected ECCM mode.
It was a clear day, so I went to optical sight and employed two AAMs just inside 2 km. Both went home. I pushed in for guns and shot off its wing. The jamming stopped (as one would expect).
However I still had a couple of âcloudsââŠchaff?
But shouldnât chaff clouds be closer than the target aircraft? Regardless, it looked pretty cool except, shouldnât the radar stuff be âunderneathâ the scale markings? The CRT would be installed under the grid screenâŠwith is why you can see the grid with the radar off. No big deal, Just checking.
He is OOOOLD, he can say it anyway he wants. Hahahahaha
Hangar, you are being way too picky sir. I think they are clouds you see there. The jamming is pretty cool. I read recently that DCS just uses a generic type Jamming. Its just one type. Maybe I can be corrected if someone here knows differently.
One more thing, I got me one of them mice that have the little button that switches the wheel from smooth turning to ratchet turning. It is extremely handy for flight sims. Logitech M705 Marathon Wireless mouse. Its awesome and costs under 30 stacks. That crank flies now.
Great Pics. Is it Coop time yet?
Reminds me of the time when I was the XO of a command in San Diego and I made announcement about âCinco de Mayoâ events pronouncing the Mayo like Mayonnaise. I was asked when Cinco de Catsup was going to be held.
Iâm getting thereâŠsoon.
Need to look into that mouse. Iâve got an old high-end programable mouse that I used with another computer - profiles for HalfLife, FSX, etc. Pretty cool but not really necessary nowâŠand itâs wheel is a âclickerââŠtime to upgrade Logitech M705 Marathon Wireless mouse - hmmmm
As a matter of fact you can use the JAMMING (Anti-Jam) switch to decrease the sensitivity of the Search antenna, which will get rid of the B52âs jamming on your radar display.
I switched to ant-jam as soon as I saw the jamming. I was getting Locked lights, but the radar was still full of lines. I could ave gone to the radar gunsight at that time but the B-52 wings were just touching the optical sight circle so I squeezed off the first missile. It flew through the flares for a hit. Shot the second one for a second hit. Then closed in for guns, manually changing the range. If I had been farther to when I got the lock I probably would have reverted back to radar sight/range.
A kill is a kill.
My point was that the cloud that you thought was âchaffâ is actually Razbamâs representation of the aircraft (âthe birdâ) while you are in Anti-Jam mode. The picture should be somewhat fuzzy since youâre still trying to figure out where a contact is with radar returns being drowned in white noise. Iâm pretty sure it has nothing to do with chaff.
I see what you mean in the screen shot with the lines. The locked light is on ad there is a smallish blur out around 4 km.
I was looking at the big puffy things on the screen without jamming linesâthink @Maico is correct in that they are clouds.
I thought it was cool how the jamming stopped as soon as I blew off the Buffâs wing.
Hello, guys. I am in doubt about buying the following modules: Mig-19, Mig-21 or F-5. Can you help me with opinions? Iâm more inclined to buy Mig-19 but I do not want to regret it.
Well, before we start giving you advice⊠what can you tell us about yourself? What are you looking for in a module? What interests you the most? What sort of missions do you want to do?
Iâm maybe 80 % done with the MiG-19 guide so if youâre a bit patient you could get a whole preview of its capabilities and operation. For the F-5 and MiG-21 you can look here and here .
Once we know what tickles your fancy, we may be able to give you better feedback.
What @Chuck_Owl said really. Each of the modules can scratch a different itch and it depends on what you are looking for. Each of the modules you list are fairly rustic when it comes to modern systems.
The F-5 is a nice flying module but you are going to be hitting the books to figure out dive angles to bomb stuff accurately. The MiG-21Bis is a close cousin-from-a-different-family that has some of the same challenges - but add in that it is designed from a different POV and has unique versions of those challences. The MiG-19 is older thatâs gonna affect everything.
Maybe take a look at Chucks guides and read through the first few pages to see if something about the modules catches your eye or interest.
