We’re not particularly puritan, it was just an effort to stop us being flagged by some common work content filters that sometimes spider us looking for a set list of words to determine rating, and that word was one of the defaults. Essentially it was about helping people at work still have access to the forums here, rather than some opinion on what words are good or bad. Interestingly (or not) our default categorization for these web filters is that we are a ‘Armed Forces’ site.
Because of your trust level here the spam filter bypasses Regular members (a level that is essentially algorithmic rather than human picked, and upgrades the members here in ‘trust levels’ as they stick around). Obviously not fool-proof.
Do not take this as a judgement or criticism on website management in any way shape or form. I’m sitting here watching my work terminal update at a blistering 2 frames per minute, and thought to myself. “I can say now. Saying dicks is funny”. because I am a man child.
