Scale Modellers, lets talk :)

Just finished this Revell kit for my son.

Me: Son, which decals should we use?
Son: Yes! :joy:

Good job there, @Ugene!
That big tiger is a decal
?

@Troll It’s a plastic model of the attack helicopter and it doesn’t look that big to me, perhaps 1:72?

:joy: sorry I just had to

EDIT: I guess this wasn’t as good a joke as I thought it would be, interpeting “that big tiger” as referring to the helicopter itself

@Ugene incredibly well built, must have taken quite some effort and a steady hand!

Yes, it‘s a 3 part decal.

Good job on the tiger decal. Looks like my worst nightmare.

I’m finally getting some slow progress on the 1/32 Skyhawk:

I got the mighty SF25 up to 100knots once or twice.

Nearly had to buy new raybans

And another one down. Tamiya Ki-61 in 1/72. First time experimenting with chipping medium and it went pretty bad in some places, chipping off the base color and primer. Brush touchups wouldn’t level with the smooth airbrushed sections.

Looks nice; great job on that antenna! I’ve tried aerials in 1/72 before but found them problematic, to say the least.

What did you use?

I used “invisible” thread, then painted it a gray-black to make it pop a little more.

You’re really good at that

I used girl’s hair back when I built plastic models.

Wow, I’m really tired this morning. My brain read your statement as “I used girl’s back hair
”
I was like, wtf and reread it to clarify. :joy:

I never was good but when I tried making models in the past, I used plastic from the sprue held above a candle flame (like a good inch above) and slowly pulled apart to make a thin wire.
