A small heat source, like a candle but never in direct contact with the flame. This makes it harder to have an even curvature though…
Better would be home radiators.
You place the blades on a surface with the exact curve you’re trying to replicate and let the heat work its magic overnight.
I’ve got a MiG-37 Ferret and an A-6E Tram Intruder waiting. But, I’m going to practice my painting and get back up to speed on something a little more forgiving:
It’s the HyGogg amphibious mobile suit from Gundom 0080 War in the Pocket. They’re nice to practice painting on since the plastic is cast in the correct tones already, so you can concentrate on detailing measures like dry brushing and washes.
Once I get my detailing practiced on a few gundam kits, I’m going back to aircraft. My current backlog is an A-6E TRAM and a MiG-37 Ferret. I think I’ll also do a CF-100 Canuck because it’s so unique.
That was news to me! Been out of the modelling loop for several months now.
Oh yes! I got the Revell 1/32 Mk.II, thinking I’d build it as a Mk. I.
But if Kotare will continue the WnW legacy, their option will probably be the better option.
Thanks for letting me start my day with such good news, @B12!
If you ever happen upon a Kenny Roberts, Telefonica Movistar RGV500 in blue…could you let me know. My 2002 GSX-R and my leathers are in those colours and I’d very much like to have the race bike mounted above it. Like I have with my Ducati 998 and the signed Troy Bayliss model I have above that.
A motorbike is on my bucket list of models someday. It’s fun to branch out and build things you wouldn’t normally build.
That 1/32 MkI looks enticing too. I’m getting close to finishing a 1/32 A-4E at the moment and finding that it’s just not my scale…so big that painting and gloss coats take forever. Now I’m intimidated by my other two 1/32 kits I have stashed away.
Kotare has released a parts breakdown of their 1/32 Spitfire.
Looks like a clever design.
They should be able to hide the seams between the parts in the panel lines, like that.
Yeah, that will probably allow them to make thinner wings too.
I watched their live Q&A show and asked about accessories like engine, trolleyacc, crew, etc and they replied that they hadn’t decided on this yet. I’m guessing that if they won’t make an engine, the after market companies will. But, as you say, it’s not a deal breaker.
I miss my model building days, but living in a small apartment with 3 kids means space is at a premium. However I have stumbled upon paper models, they seem interesting and I am thinking the kids could join in too. Does anyone have any good sources for paper models (aircraft/ships/armor) ?
