Finished the MU-2A. Quick and dirty build without much effort.
Also white balance on DSLRs is hard.

How do you manage such quality, that fast?
Impressive!

Okay so I had a complete willpower failure and bought that Kotare Mk1a like 5 seconds after I saw the preorder email come through, but I’m going to try and resist this one. These are the things I’m telling myself -

  1. you have not built a kit in years and you realistically have at least another 2 before you’d have the time to start one.

  2. you have been kinda good about not buying kits the past 5 years, but you still have at least 30 squirreled away in the garage and closet waiting for that magical day in the future when you can start.

  3. you just spent over 100 dollars on that Kotare kit!!!

I’m hopeful I get through to myself on this one.

Guilty on all accounts here as well…

I, too, have a stash monster in the closet.

And I’m waiting for someone to make an F-35C…Orange Hobby is the only brand still in business that makes a Charlie at all

Oh and my Mirage F-1 resin pit + new canopy finally came! Never worked with resin or vacuum form. The canopy in particular looks…difficult.

I bought this a while ago to prevent me from getting more models that I never complete. So the cunning (?) plan is that I first need to build this monster of a model before I buy any other …

Thought this would be a 1~2 week build. Ended up taking a month because of some fitment issues.

I made a lot of kits when I was in my teens (mainly 1/72 Airfix and 1/35 Tamiya armour), but nothing that comes close to what I am seeing here. I have nothing to add except - Absolutely superb work gentlemen.

At a previous job, when they allowed certain ‘personal discussion forums’ on the WAN, one was a scale modellers forum. Whenever somebody posted an outstanding completed kit, the general response was “you’re banned”… so guess what? @Clutch

Guess I’m banned for life at this point :joy:

Still blasting through my 1/72 collection. Washed parts for my next three: F-104J, F1CT, and A-6A. Let’s see how far I get by Christmas.

I have considered it many times. But I’m torn between wanting to see what beautiful model you will build next, and feelings of utter inadequacy…

I’ve flagged your posts on many occasions for making me feel inadequate :joy::joy:

My best friend and I have a Thanksgiving tradition. We used to build a model during the holiday and compare at the end of the weekend. The girls would be upstairs cooking and us building in manland.
Well, since moving out of Kansas many years ago, we’ve done our best to keep it going. So starting Thursday morning, I began the old Monogram 1/48 UH-1C Huey. Not a well fitting kit, but it was fun.
