Scale Modellers, lets talk :)

It looks amazing! Congrats on getting it done despite the frustration!

The kit may have been less than stellar, but I don’t think it shows. And the painting, decaling and weathering couldn’t be better! :+1:

Love it!

Looks good!! Did you ever think about tossing it at any point?

I’ve only done that once, it was tough to go through with it but it turned out to be the right thing. (Not that I think you should’ve tossed yours with the way it turned out! Just curious if during the two years it ever crossed your mind)

Once again I am blown away by your ability to bring a ‘piece of plastic’ to life… even if it is a terrible quality kit.

Thanks guys!

Perhaps not to the trash bin but I did consider boxing it back up and banishing it to a dark corner of my closet on more than one occasion. The only reason I pushed through was because it was a gift from my dad and he would occasionally check in on my progress.

Your work is first class. Your dad will be proud.

God, that is outstanding. That is fantastic. I hope my Intruder looks HALF as good.

I’d be super proud at 20%, but I’m a simple man, I build 1:72

Finished this little guy I picked up at a local shop. Hasegawa C-130H 1:200. Had a lot of decal silvering but I mainly got it for the camo practice. Tricolor is pretty challenging.

Cracking away at a double build. Tempest in 1/48 and Tornado in 1/72. The RLM02 on the Tornado is a bit…bright. Too late now so whatever.

Fix that with a little post shading, perhaps?
That cockpit looks super!

A panel wash should do the trick. Eduard kits are da bomb for cockpit details. The seatbelts are my own edition from Fine Molds. They make these plyable plastic seatbelt sets.

Finished the Tornado. Starboard wing is droopy but I guess that’s the sacrifice I had to make for modifying the mechanism to allow a proper 67 degree sweep. I decided not to mess with the colors that much. Since I don’t have any RAL colors I had to eyeball and match with RLM and whatever else I had on hand.

Aaaah! The Luftwaffe Tonka!!
I know I have pics of the ones that visited our airbase, when I did my military service. Must see if I can find them…

Edit. Wait! Are you using magnets for the hardpoints?

Yep, first time experiementing with the idea. The fuel tanks/Sidewinders are hanging on for dear life and jiggle any time I touch the kit

Hasegawa, in their infinite wisdom, engineered the kit with moveable wings but not moveable hardpoints.

It is gorgeous! You make me want to mess with plastic and paint again!

The ones I superglued onto the one I built for my dad have already fallen off.

And on top of the flexibility with wing sweep, your paint scheme looks dashing too!

You make me want to revisit the Tornado, drill holes and add magnets. Although he’d probably keep the wings in fixed position anyway.

Looks amazing Clutch.

Thanks guys. I started the kit as a lackadaisical build and it ended up much better than I expected.
