Scale Modellers, lets talk :)

Need me some Bf 109. Eduard kits are always nice. I’ve got their MiG-21MF and Spitfire MkIX in my stash, in addition to that F-6F.

Also this beast is getting close to completion after I finish the wake effects:

Thanks guys. Whenever I get around to my CV-5 kit I’ll do the same, except make the water darker. I feel this one is a tad too bright.

And now on to my next project :upside_down_face:

That kind of depends on where the ship is sailing. The water looked tropical to me and LHD-7 is home-ported in Mayport FL - so Caribbean? :slightly_smiling_face:

Funny you should mention that. Most of my reference photos of the Iwo were in tropical waters, so I tried reproducing that. Maybe it’s the lack of transparency–a good chunk of the lower hull should be visible in clear blue waters.

Looks great @Clutch! That being said though after all these years a deck full of Ospreys still doesn’t look right to me. Would look a lot better with a deck full of Phrogs (CH-46’s)!

I gave up all my 46’s for the LHD-2 commission build in exchange for extra Harriers for mine

LOL. Maybe perhaps so. :grin:My only experience is from the flight deck looking down. I didn’t lean over the side far enough to see the hull under water. [splash] :open_mouth:

You did a fantastic job!

Ooooo, love B-17s. My great uncle flew the G over Germany but sadly passed away when I was still in single digits.

And a teaser of my next project…started 30MAR and already have the thing primed and ready for paint.

Seeing that putty you’ve put over the glass…man that’s a good idea. I’m so pleased I saw that. That’s the one thing that always let’s my models down more than anything else. Thanks @Clutch

Oh the blue stuff is paint
For the canopy masking it’s a mix of tape and liquid mask.

Mine is also Eduard 1/72, Profipack so I’m kinda cheating with the pre-painted photoetch parts. MiG-21MF in Czech colors. Here’s some more progress:

And she’s done. A couple pics and then an album link so I don’t flood the post with too many pictures.
