Show us your sim pit!

Indeed it does, although the slanted ceiling is just a little on the low side, have had some collisions while tracking or searching for targets in BFM. Ideally I’d move the whole pit out a foot or so.

Oooo, this worked out well … I turned my joystick desk mount upside down so now my yoke is higher and sticking out towards me at just under chest high, similar to steveo1kinevo’s yoke in his TBM …

This is better in VR too as there’s lots of space for reaching about the virtual cockpit.

Works great for my wheel too! …

It took a little while, but here it is in action.
Use the Force!

It’s a helicopter. The vibrations just put your spine to sleep.

95% done ( just have to add center stick etc)

Decided to do something about my simulation and work setup. For my whole life I had a regular desk with a monitor. On that I added desk mounts for my hotas. Was quite nice but I felt that there must be something more comfortable. After some looking around I landed in the Obutto Ozone with some tweaks.

I took the base setup, got rid of the monitor mount and put my monitor on a M VESA mount so I can adjust the distance from my seated position better. Turned out really nice. I’ve played DCS a couple of evenings and worked a few days in it and it works great. For work, I just remove the hotas setup and replace it with a movable mouse and keyboard tray.

What’s left to do is to fix a mouse surface and re-attach my Buddyfox UFC and do something about all the cables lying around.

How did you mount your VPC base? I’m still trying to figure out how to do mine to my R3volution.

Hi Navynuke99: I added a large piece of Velcro just to have it somewhat secured where I wanted it. Then I took some heavy duty zip ties and just strapped that sucker down on to it. It’s like it’s welded to the seat. No flex what so ever and very easy to remove.

If you find a comfortable solution to center mounting, I’m all ears.

You’d be suprised what a few pieces of zip ties can do

My whole business is held together with various sizes of zip ties

I once strapped a projector under a ceiling water pipe for a party  Worked fine.

LOL, I can’t believe it, but that’s exactly what I’ve done with mine (“temporarily”). :joy: Although I had enough zip ties to make ‘corners’ at the edge of the base, which made the zip ties lay flat. Just until I can mount it properly… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Beautiful pit but I’m wondering why you have the throttle mounted backwards? Is it your way of ensuring that you pull for power?

Backwards? Well, IRL I’m usually in a C182T and in the PIC seat, the throttle/prop/mixture are on the right. In the C182T (as well the 172) you’d push to add fuel/pitch/mix and pull to reduce… In my case as a Mission Observer, those controls, are on my left. In my simpit, I’m the PIC  Now if you’re referring to the TM Warthog Throttle on the left, it swings around.

I had the same thought, trying to imagine how pronated your wrist would have to be to reach it, until I saw the swing mechanism. Pretty cool set-up, nice cockpit!

ETA- I also noticed the thong serving as a dust cover for your warthong… LOL! :joy:
