Show us your sim pit!

Yes, it’s based on the Bergison Motion Integrated G-SEAT.

I think you will, in the future also approve of the Styrspak.

Thank you for the praise. You can come visit sometime when you want some spiddekaga. (jk it’s disgusting)

It’s been a while. Last week I took delivery of a pair of MFD button frames. This sunday I cobbled together a mounting solution:

In true schurem fashion it is scrap wood. But fancy scraps, a bit of bankirai hardwood upcycled to cockpit dashboard. It slots into the throttle/buttonbox construction on the left and a mounting on the right so I can lift it out to enter and exit the pit.

It doesn’t look like scrap wood at all

Bit of sanding and a few strokes of the electric planer and it looks like it’s meant that way

But believe you me, all wood used in my pit came out of the leftover scraps pile.

Ohh I do believe you! Creating magic from scrap is your specialty after all.

Me too. And all the mismatched aluminium profiles too!

A funny side effect of this addition to my pit is that the Pimax headset seems to have far better tracking, now that it has some bright leds to look at.

That’s awesome! Which Pimax headset do you have? I’m really enjoying my Quest 3, but the wider FOV of the Crystal Super has got me thinking…

Do all of the LED backlights function…?

Mine is a little out of place at the moment

It had to be moved aside because all the tubing for the heat pump will be routed through my office this coming week.

Yes they do! One of the rocker switches has a broken hinge, it tends to come off, but it may have been a casualty of my delicate building process… XD “brrrrrrrRRRRRR!!! BzzzzzzzRRRnNeeeeaaaaooooww! Bang!bang! Bang!”

Well, it seems to have fixed the LEDs…!

Lol that it did.

Here we see our local expert in prettifying things carefully and most precisely bedazzling every middle button with the smallest of her stick-on jewels so that I may feel my way around the MFD more handily (great trick @PaulRix !)

Love the focus your daughter is showing. She looks like a sweetheart, but imagine she has some of dad’s ‘low land gorilla’ in her. Just kidding, meant with respect

Oh yes she does. She’s a menace on the mat :martial_arts_uniform:

It looks like you have a fixed one G acceleration seat there

My goodness she grows so fast… Last time I saw har was half the size. Congratz to you and your wife, @schurem

Getting a new space to grow into since my two oldest have flown the coop within a month of each other this spring/summer.

Spent this weekend moving the rig over and getting the new Simsonn Pro Plus Pedals installed. Next up will be working on getting the Flight Sim configuration back together and start figuring out the next needed upgrades there.

Guess I wasn’t quite done… went ahead and added in a couple of Base Shakers into the mix.

Happy with the front shaker even though it’s the smaller one. I’m MEH on the big one in the rear. Think it’s loosing some feeling for me in its current position. Think I need it more directly mounted to the seat. Was thinking it might muddle the HF8 but now I think there will be enough of a difference that it won’t be a problem. I’ll run it this way for awhile but I suspect I’ll be working towards a different solution.
