Developer is saying 1 to 2 months before it hits early access.

EA will be a year it looks like.

Im trying not to over hype it in my mind.

I enjoy RTS and was highly interested in this one but after seeing some gameplay I’ve decided to pass on this. Interesting concept but I’m not feeling the design for some reason.

Thanks for posting.

Game is released, Its a very early access game, but for $20 USD its not bad,

No tutorials makes it suffer, The FPS aspect has some direction but the RTS aspect lacks in that regard.

I can see this become good in a few months but as of now, not so much. Will reexplore later on.

Does the FPS part “feels” like an ARMA game?

Not really. It was more of an arcady feel to me.

I got more kills not using the scope to aim then i did with the scope.

Even when I was under bug attack i never felt in danger of dying.

Movement and spotting wise, very ARMA feel.

Has potential and I feel it will get better. But the current state just dosent have much meat on the bones.

I didnt see much in the way of difficulty settings either. So i would assume somewhere down the road we would get some more realism options.

its not bad … few bugs so far … my MLRS launchers seemed to go berserk and start shelling my base could have been a bit keen to hit the crabs

Whats the learning curve like? Is it a super difficult to learn RTS or more of a C&C ish semi casual

The rts feels like a slower paced c&c the fps feels like battlefield 2 … pretty good so far no micromanagement like the later c&c with alternate weapon or special ability units … a tank is just a tank :grinning:

One small thing if Obi is going to play it… I would steer him away from the FPS, for a little one the Bugs may be a touch scary… definite starship troopers vibes, I jumped several times when one burst out of the sand

Sorry for the probably silly question- at which level is multiplayer implemented?

not completely sure … when you start a game it starts a server, which can be pass-worded, so far it seems to have a max of 12 players but haven’t yet seen where the server list to join games is. you can either start as the commander doing the base building or as a foot soldier… in the FPS section you can claim a vehicle by putting your gun sight on it and pressing E … then walk up and get in also by pressing E… (claiming a vehicle is great otherwise you cant get near them as they drive off into the dunes)
all vehicles are driveable and @Victork2 you will love the handling of the light quads … total dune buggy … as you go up though the vehicles they all handle differently, the harvester feels immense.

foot soldier … showing normal view and thermal imaging

in and around the refinery

the big ass harvester, which you enter through stairs which drop down

the quad drifts fantastically on the sand

some sort of wheeled assault gun when i was targeting the biggest bug in the game
