SimBox NG

I needed somewhere to put stuff.
You know… Stuff.

Found a suitable wall box.

Of course, I had to paint it a little…

I am beyond jealous of your talent mate

I think a lot of it is discipline patience and perseverance, right troll?

That’s sublime,

Thanks, but I just painted the stripes…

You sayin’ I ain’t got talent…?
But yeah, I masked that thing 3 times, before I got it right…

But hardly subliminal…

You sayin’ having those three things in exactly the right measure along with the drive to make stuff aren’t what is commonly known as ‘talent’?

I honestly don’t know. Don’t think I’m talented. I learn, albeit slow, and apply that to things I want done.

I think there is more to that…you didn’t just paint stripes, you saw the potential of stripes and set them free with you paint brush!

Now what…?

That’s a pulley… I sense… a cam-based control arm somewhere… Hmm…

Hint.
It’s a redesign of an existing feature…

I’m not satsified with the scissor link extension arms for the sidewalls… They are troublesome when I fold the sidewalls in, and the SimBox must be stowed away in an instant.

So, I’m looking for other solutions…

This is my latest idea.

The arm is just a rough cut to test the idea.
The rollers have a radius so I need to round the edges of the aluminium plate that I use as an arm, or adjust the roller and remove the radius.

I’m open for ideas!

Change the aluminium plate into a cylinder? Ought to be much easier and probably just as strong!

TITANIUM ALLOY!

Thought about that.
I would need larger wheels and attach a plate to the end that connects to the joint at the sidewall frame…

The answer to any problem!

People: “Hey Troll, what are all your problems?”
Troll rolling eyes: “Komemiute!”.

Hmmm…
Not sure this is a better way of designing the sidewall supports.
It’s definitely another way if doing it, but not necessarily better.

Must think.

How about a scissor type link, would that be a possibility?
