Sorry for starting another Thread but it was brought to my attention that the PICO 4 can also work standalone!
Anyone here knows good games for early teens (12 to 14 years old) that work standalone on the PICO 4 VR?

I was already waiting for you to ask
Some of my favorites:
I guess the following are also very good, just haven’t delved into presumably longer storytelling:
Ah! Awesome, thanks!
Cracking good game especially multiplayer, and they keep adding courses, just released abandoned fun fair a couple of days ago
I have another question- I read that the Pico 4 has hands tracking how does that work?
OK so I tried to connect the PICO 4 to my PC with a special made cable and PICO Connect doesn’t detect the headset- only via Steam Link I get something, but given the low quality of the connection it’s not that great.
Any indication?
I tried all the usual, and I’m in contact with the PICO support but it seems to be a barely
disguised AI helper.
You have Connect installed on both ends?
Also version should probably match.
Yes, latest version on both, checked for updates on the headset- says I’m at the latest.
Ok I read to try virtual desktop…
Difficult to say what’s causing the issue. I would guess something usb related. Not enough power, or the usb controller on the PC. I guess you could just try the WIFI connection with Pico Connect. If it works, it will point to issues with USB.
Yeah, it’s not a bad point… I got in touch with Pico support anyways.
Just for clarity : I am using a purposefully made cable, on a USB 3 port (blue plastic insert), the cable has an external port for charging and I connected a power cord to it (USB C), and the headset IS detected by Windows, I can reach inside its memory and in fact I pulled the logs out of it.
Odd.
Strange. Also, make sure that headset is system software is up to date.
I recall there is one setting related to usb connection in the HMD settings. Not sure if it has anything to do with this, but worth checking.
Then the usual suspects, antivirus software etc, but I think you got those already. I am running out of ideas. I am sure you will get it working sooner or later
OMFG I’m such an idiot!
It works… you know… if you install the CORRECT software!
I installed Pico Connect instead of Streaming Assistant…
Just finished an hour long session of Half Life : Alyx.
I’m SO HAPPY… also freaking scared shirtless… but mostly happy.
Guys this thing is PHENOMENAL!
My only … issue, if we wanna call it that is that my nose has a certain angle to its bridge and the headset kinda rests a bit too hard on it.
This is with the AMVR mask… might try to put the original one.
We will see…
how hard is it to change?
EDIT: Super easy, already did it- it’s held in place by magnets. Super smart.
I like the original mask but I think it will not help with my nose.
Glad it was just another PEBKAC problem.
Wheels
Great!
Glad you are happy with the experience! Alyx is definitely one of the coolest VR title.
Changing should be easy as the mask is held by magnets. There might be some notches near the nose, so just feel and don’t use brute force
ROFLMAO! It totally was.
EDIT: @UncleZam YES! It was super easy and indeed it it much better for my large nose.
The original mask rests gently on my cheekbones and only a little on the nose.
I’m amazed.
Same with me, ergonomics on the original is better. Rests a bit on the cheekbones. The AMVR one might be a bit thinner, so maybe a bit bigger FOV. But I prefer the OG for comfort.
Agree… but I must reiterate…I literally cannot believe how well this thing works…
The visual clarity, the sweet spot, the easiness of the main interface…
I can’t believe it. Stunning.
I’m so happy.
Yeah, those pancake lenses are really nice.
Good to hear you like it
