Actually @fearlessfrog and I just kinda assumed that his issue with them was phobia based.
If it isn’t: sorry!
In that case the answer is: they are easy to kill if you use certain tactics. Like, one-hit easy.
I had problems with them until I figured it out and from there on they are free loot.
Thanks guys i consider my phobia to be quite minor, no problems with RL spiders up to when size is measured in inches. Anyway for some reason these things in this particular game get to me, never was shocked like that moment at the workbench. It just annoys me too, why not make them a little less “real” to make it more fun for us sissies. Anyway I can try frantically to avoid them but to be honest I play games for fun not to torture myself, and so dcs or bms always wins when I have a couple of hours to relax behind my desktop. Some day I might pick it up again though because I agree it really is up there with the jedi knight series.
I did not see myself ever playing an EA game again, but i got to admit, this one was good fun (apart from the repetitiveness of running around parts you had already visited).
Probably won’t be as long lived as Jedi Outcast 1 & 2 but amidst all the other inconsequential fluff that has been coming out under the Star Wars franchise, it is definitely a huge step forward.
Yeah, I’ve just finished it on Jedi Grandmaster difficulty (second run through) and have to admit I’m already looking forward to the sequel. I think Respawn got the combat part of the game just right - even after 2 runs through it’s still immensely satisfying to get that perfect side-step and counter kick to killing blow combo.
