I’m going to hold off on shattered space. Was really excited until the reviews started coming in.
Wait for a sale or a GOTY. I never do, but i will this time

I have not read any reviews. What are the negative comments? I’ve put about 4 hours into the DLC so far and I’m enjoying it. Were there people expecting this DLC to make massive changes to the gameplay? If that was their expectation then yes, they were doomed to be disappointed.
The reviews state it only adds aroind 6 hours of gameplay, reskinned weapons and armour. Not a great deal new content for a very premium price.
I’ll still get it but I’m going to wait until it comes right down in cost
Interesting about the 6 hour estimate because I’ve put about 4 hours in so far and I’m nowhere near finishing all of the main story missions and side missions.
Shattered Space has been on my sure-fire buy list for months, given the hours I’ve enjoyed the base game.
But finding out that Shattered Space forces my character to be converted to their religion… something my character type in-game would NEVER do… It just kills it for me.
I’m playing it as “sure…whatever you want me to do, dude! I believe now! Really! Honest!”
An oath that is uttered but isn’t meant is nothing. If other people are going to force me to say something I don’t mean, then I will say something I don’t mean.
It always bugs me in films and TV when someone will stupidly stand their ground for zero benefit “No! I will never join you!” and then gets their skull cracked. Playing along is great for buying time and infiltration.
As for Starfield, it seemed to me the story was condensed. As long as it was, they were worried about each NPC taking too long to get maximum trust and bonding and players losing interest due to impatience and all that so we get the edited reality TV version.
I will admit SF is still too fast with it, they overcorrected. I think games like Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic were better with the romance storylines, taking their time properly, but for many other games I’ve usually felt they dragged on, too.
I’ve now put about 10 hours into the DLC and I’m not even done with the main storyline so that 6 hour claim by the reviewers must be meant for college-aged speed runners with ADD.
Thats good to know!
