Man I wish I could hop on my bike, ride on over, put on my mask and sort that stuff. So frustrating!
In the module manager it shows syria but UGRA is faded. The other terrain Eagle Dynamics is bold. It makes no difference where I put the slider.
I will try your nuclear option overnight. I am confused by reinstalling but not running the installer. Happy with moving the files out and in. That I can do.
Windows has a tool named snip. Just press the windows key and type snip. you can paste the selection into this forum for maximum righteousness.
Thatâs how my skatezilla looks.
Mine looks exactly the same as @schurems with normandy, Channel and Syria in red as not bought
Just brainstorming.
Are there two installations?
Does the version number in the Skatezilla tool match the version number in game?
dude, somethingsâ off! get that thing fixed man! that just aint right!
Its the fact my pc only has 16gig ram that scares me with Syria. Plus with all my new toys this weekâŠ
Please Post DCS Log Files
Skip the product page view as those may not show the full order status. You need to go to the Profile/Personal section.
Sign in, click Profile link at the top near Logout.
The list there will show the most recent few orders and the current status like so:
You can also drill-down to that specific order to verify the payment was received.
Iâd be curious to see if an incomplete payment could lead to the product page showing bought, as there is an order for it, yet prevent use because itâs not completed therefore activating the license.
Especially if you bought at the time the A-10CII came out as the site was heavily loaded and many payments (including paypal) failed to get completed/applied. For that I had to manually go to my order list to finish it because the website hung and interrupted the process.
Edit:
I wonât post the drill down as it has personal info right on it but you can see the order status should say Completed and the product status (very bottom) should say Delivered.
If all that checks out, then as Skate requested the DCS.log file would be helpful for the next step.
It was ordered on 24 July 2020. Completed and delivered.
We are now back to where it all began with the DCS.log file. I eventually found this and sent it to ED a while back but sent the wrong one. I have now deleted everything apart from the mods and am trying to install DCS open beta again. The computer is telling me I donât have permission and need to ask the admin. I am the only user and the admin. @Victork2 could be getting a visit despite the distance
Payment is shown as made.
Are you by chance installing to an external drive or secondary drive that was once used with or part of a previous or other computer? That could result in some lingering old file permissions from the other PC that could trip Windows to ask to an override.
No. It was a new laptop for Christmas, configured especially for dcs which as @Victork2 has pointed out, is the best he has used.
Without question. It makes my pc look asthmatic (which in an iron man case is quite ironic)
open beta is now re-installing. I will move the mods across once it has done so, repair and then see if Syria will run.
Interestingly the only way I could get round the admin permission was to allow DCS to initially save to where it wanted to go - into the Skatezilla DCS updater folder. Once I did this it then asked if I wanted to put it in the ED folder I had previously used. I said yes.
Gentlemen.
Thank you all for your advice and help. Not forgetting Alexandr from ED.
@SkateZilla I found that although I had downloaded the latest file it remained the version @VictorK2 loaded back in 2019. I deleted this and downloaded the latest version again.
I then followed @schuremâs advice and copied the mods to a separate file and deleted dcs. I then reloaded open beta which is all I use, and moved the mods back in. This saved about 24 hours downloading time on my connection. Updated and repaired.
Syria now works for me. At least, I have opened a quick mission using that map. It was dark so I could see nothing but it was very impressive with either flak or lightning flashes. Tomorrow I will hookup to a 4K TV and track IR and go exploring.
Why not tonight? My wife is plying me with a good Italian red so I am unfit to fly though the wine helped write the story I posted in the Civil Aviation Ministry Information. @Victork2 insisted I share it. He had to put up with me telling the story as part of a presentation I did in the summer.
Roll on my Reverb2
Glad we got that sorted. Enjoy the red wine. Myself and the wife managed to palm the children off on the grandparents and we bought âboneworksâ for the oculus.
We both feel ill now. Motion sickness is very real with that game. It is VERY good though. But my godâŠwe put 3 hours into it between us and both of us are wobbling and feel awful. Just like after red wine
Honestly, I can do hours upon hours in dcs and not suffer at all. But you make me walk across a room in a game and my brain just will not accept it.
