I mean, if they wanna use the spaghetti LUA scripting I’ve been posting, I guess they can? It’s not particularly valuable, just scripting 101 stuff. 
I didn’t have to use a phone number to verify, email was enough.
I tried twice, with two different email, and both times they wouldn’t let me in without “verifying” using a phone number.
But… meh. I don’t really care.
Might be because I used a “real” email address and they scan a lot of the mass/free emails.
I’ve had the same address for 19 years so I don’t think they can spam it more than it already is! 
It is not about them spamming me, I don’t care about that.
I care about them selling my data, including my email address and the information about whom I talk to, voice pattern and most likely a lot more.
Social networks (Discord is one) make their money with - for me - unacceptable methods, so I don’t support them.
Just in case people don’t know - thank you to @Fridge for setting that up and paying for it each month, basically just to help others out.

Understandable and a valid concern. For someone like me though, I think I’d have too much fun trying to throw the algorithms off.
If anyone is on Discord tonight, I will be practicing with some coyote calls. Fair warning.

there is some strange behavior I discovered. people are online, want to fly with somebody and they just dont conect to voice chat right away… instead spaming chat with questions like ’ is there anyone who wants to fly ? ’ 
Doesn’t sound strange to me at all, especially if you don’t use PTT but voice activation. You don’t want everybody on the channel to be listening to you all the time, and you probably don’t even want to have your headset on your head all the time.
Also: the text you posted will be visible for a while (if the program is any good), the words you just said cannot be heard by anyone who doesn’t listen at that exact moment.
I’d do it pretty much the same. Or even better: Plan ahead. Ask on Mudspike if everyone wants to fly, and then go to TeamSpeak.
An awesome thing about the Mudspike TS3 and the plugin for the site was that you could check if anyone was on at all, then you could activate your TS.

Yup, this exactly. I have a device that links my hearing aid and implant to either bluetooth or a standard audio jack and it’s got limited power, so I only use it when I know I need to hear precisely. Trying to use voice comms with a headset alone leaves a lot to be desired as I can only hear marginally well with the headset and implant (the mic on the hearing aid isn’t positioned correctly).
I gues MUTE is standard option.
Discord has a similar widget available for embedding in webpages - and I agree, it’s a wonderful tool.

I’ve updated the Chat icon (the bullhorn up top) to use the standard Discord widget. The other one I wanted to try out was good because it showed the active chat, and people could read it without an account, but we could try the ‘presence’ way instead, as it’s more like how TS used to work with the widget:
