More than a year later, I have finally gotten the TWCS throttle. It now sits comfortably on my desk next to its older brother:
Time to bind Mirage and FC3 controls, who’s got a good fighter lay-out for this thing? Radar azimuth/elev, CMS, airbrakes, weapon release, TDC and close combat modes.

So yesterday I bound the controls, today was the first time I flew and fought with the full throttle unit. Amazing experience, so much smoother than the modes juggling I was doing with just the stick. Probably mostly due to my incompetence in creating control layouts: it gets easier with more buttons.
Also, aerial refuelling was a lot easier, walking the throttle is now possible.
