TM, Virpil, WW & MOZA Mounts in 2024/25

OMG! Thank YOU! I thought that would never work!!! I ordered the AB-9 Mount a week ago, I will be a patient. However, Im dying to try the WW F-16. TAPE IT IS THEN!

For me the tape is working well enough that I haven’t bothered to order a new part. The caveat being that I can’t hot swap the AB9 to a side stick configuration. Most of my airplanes use a center stick though.

Lets see if I can put that together… Should be straight forward.

Of all the tools that I’ve bought over the years, a drill press has got to be one of the most used. If it died, I’d replace it pretty quickly. No wait, it’s a Craftsman that I bought 25 years ago, when they had lifetime warranties. It will most likely outlive me regardless.

What mount and adapter are you using? My T-50 adapter fits… the T-50 LOL

My new apartment is tini tiny. I dont want to go down that rabit hole. Ill end up with 300 dollars worth of tools and complaining neighbors.

I’m using the SimFab pit (DCS Edition) and the stick base is attached with mounting tape directly to the plate.

Sooooo… like this? Ha ha. I glued the crap out of it. Will need a blow dryer to get it off. It feels good. Its my first time not using a TM on a HOTAS. I am excited. Thanks @PaulRix !!

On the overhyped ffb… big Meh… while i appreciate the precision, the feedback was positively underwhelming. I need a little more time but first impression is… sad and gimmicky. Lets see

ROFL, glad I’m not the only one that thought that.

Let’s just say this perspective illusion is often used to good effect by certain…NSFW pictures men send to women to exaggerate proportions.

So was I… By me!

That will teach the wife for travelling interstate at this time of year and leaving me unsupervised :money_mouth_face:

Just pulled the pin on a virpil ‘standard’ base, they now come fitted with the balancing thingy from the factory and the Apache grip.

€440 including express courier delivery. That works out to about 700 dollaridoos, I should avoid import duties because it is under $1000, but I will probably be liable for about $70 in GST (our version of VAT) before customs will release it.

Awesome! That Apache grip looks impressive. I’m starting to second guess my decision to get the Plus version with the throttle.

They haven’t shipped my order yet because my selections are on back-order. I did receive my mounting kit today from SimFab, so I’m all set for when the Collective eventually arrives.

I got the Apache grip because:

  1. Lots of buttons
  2. If I forget what button does what, I just have to look at the collective - VR or 2D

And yeah, mines on back-order too. I’m not expecting it before Xmas.
