Ahhh… that would do it.
Frustated AF. I think I have a dud. NO FFB. Only trim. I tried Apache, Huey and Mi-24. No Joy. So pissed
I cant figure out IL2. The second line is not filling in. I have no idea what to put there.
Recalibrated the base now everything works. Im exhausted.
Well at least you got it working!
I had a good time for about 30 minutes. Now the Game Launcher does not work. It comes on black then shuts down.
I cant play
This is the problem with this approach of having another app adding control loading inputs to what the game is giving… if they just honestly respond to what the game is telling them to do then the game devs can get the shuddering etc. happening…
Do you own the Tomcat or Phantom? I’m interested to know if the shuddering comes through the Moza FFB base when the Moza app isn’t working…
@Torc and company, it was a very satisfying night in the end. This “toy” takes a lot of effort, set up and patience. By the time i got it, i was again tired… however… I had a fantastic time in the Huey " Ground attack easy" flight. I killed them all. The Huey is giving me Sooooo much feedback.
I then went for my favorite new thing. Laps around the Nttr “improve your piloting skills” course in the OH-6… im damn satisfied. Love it. Damn i had a good time!
Ill have a go at the Phantom this week. @PaulRix can tell you more about the AB-9/F-4 experience. I think he might share how he felt about it.
Im just dying to try a Warbird and Korea bird.

I know that like with my FFB wheels I do NOT want generic rumbles in my stick all the time, it gets too tiring.
Runway vibrations on TO/landing are ok, and of course stall onset is important, and I’ll even go for battle damage vibes (although I prefer being able to feel the damage’s effect on flight so that I can tell when I’m doing enough/too much to compensate).
You bring up a very good point. When is reality too real to enjoy the game? While the rumble is entertaining, it does keep you from being as smooth as possible. It will detract from your aim and possibly tire you out enough to make a mistake. There is not doubt now for me. FFB is the way forward. I like how MOZA has given us a plethora of choices for ffb customization. I had a lot of rumble at like 50%. Too much. Stick felt like it wanted to jump from my hand. I then went to 28% witch is standard and perhaps I will tune from there.
I remember being quite amused when VR first became a thing in DCS and some people were complaining that it made checking 6 too hard.
To witch I would say, Read “100 missions North” and Shut your trap!
DCS Website was down last night. How is this for irony?
Has anyone gotten AB-9 to work with IL2 GB?
That’s actually why I was asking about the Tomcat/F-4 stick shaking… what I want from my home control loading “force feedback” is the displaced centre position from trim forces, aerodynamic forces increasing with speed in aircraft where that is relevant, and the onset of buffet in modules that model that.
I can live without the gun vibration, and I’d prefer not to have engine vibration in flight.
What is Telemetry? Software says set up Telemetry for IL2 GB
Telemetry is literally measuring of something remotely.
So it probably means tracking and logging the position of the peripheral during the game.
Thanks! I guess I should be more specific. Moza Software asks for the game path. Then under that line it asks for Telemetry for IL2. I beleive it is looking for some channel. I cant find anywhere where anyone has used the AB9 with IL2 GB. So it is probably work in progress.
I don’t own the hardware, but it’s probably a holdover from Moza’s sim racing gear which can run off telemetry recording (such as that written somewhere a dash/wheel display can grab it from in rFactor and other sims).
So yes - it sounds like it’s not finished yet. Does it do anything at all in the game, or is it just like a normal sprung joystick?
Rumour has it that Moza pinched the software from VpForce. If that holds true, it could be leftovers from the original programming.
